I post rarely from the break room at work, but I do not have a computer at my desk. Which sucks. But I wouldn't be productive at all if that were the case, so I guess it's for the best.

I work in an insurance company. Paper pusher. Pays the bills.

He means that people would flock to the camera by the dozens and act like jackasses in front of it, much like on TV.

How about THIS idea? Do you think it'd be cool to be able to check other people's playtime? Like, I have this one friend who claims to be a "casual" player like me, playing just a few hours a week, but when I ask him what his /playtime is, I think he's lyin' through his teeth!

I think it'd be amusing to be able to target people and do a /playtime on them, to see how much time they've put into the game. (One of my friends has been playing for about 5 years and his playtime totals over a month! Holy cow!)

What do you think of that idea?

Posting from an office where I've been sortof kind of interning and somehow that turned into employment as of today(paperwork).
They leave me unsupervised far too often.

My job is such a stagnating bore that the fact I don't get locked out of these forums is unresistable. Quite frankly, I'm still surprised I haven't had to answer to my supervisor about just what that silly looking green rabbit squirrel at the top of the screen is.

As long as I can quickly scroll to avoid all the silly little pictures on the page, these look well enough like technical forums to the average cubicle passer-by.

One entire month of your life dedicated to a game isn't bad? I think it's a little scary.

I guess if I totaled all the time I spent playing video games in general, it'd come out to something much larger than that. I still think it's pretty shocking though when you add up all the hours and are presented such a clear declaration of how you're spending your time on earth. Oh well. Games are fun, and we're gamers. What're ya gonna do?

You must have never played the Disgaea series...

I work in a office and shockingly this site has not be blocked yet for whatever reason, no matter how many times I access it. So if i'm not here, I'm either emailing my brother and cousins who all live out of state, and we try to keep in touch every day since we all like similar things or on google looking at news. In between all of that I'm working lol. Not really directly supervised, but the lady I work with is constantly looking over my shoulder. You don't see me saying anything when she's making all of her personal calls that take 15-20 mins each. During which she does no work lol. If I'm here and reading, I can do other work at the same time and just flash the page up to glance at for reading purposes.

Edit: Also, how in the heck did I beat Jenova_9 out for the frequent poster award this week.

Now with 3G and phones being able to surf the web, you can just get on with your phone. It's more annoying, but convenient if you don't want to get caught on the computer.

Thats true too. Sometimes I do that with my iPod Touch. Especially during the summer when facebook was blocked on our computers, but it wasn't blocked via wifi...

Over five years of playing the game, I have more than just one month of playing the game. If you've been playing a long time (over several years) then an entire month of playtime really isn't that much.

If I took all the gametime I've accumulated, from every game I've ever played, since I was a kid (I'm 24 now), and added it up... I shudder to think what the total time would be. If a month of ffxi netted me a day of playtime, my whole gaming career has probably eaten at least a year of my life.

Probably true of any hobby. Pssht...whatever, games are good for your brain! And I reed buks, to!
