      I take it you're trying to find out if they run www.thisschoolspage.edu themselves?

      If they run it themselves, likely they have dns set up to return private ip's to services when the request is made from the private network, nslookup will tell you that. If a public ip was returned by dns you'd use traceroute to figure out if they just have a direct route to that ip block (they host it themselves) or if it has to leave the network to reach the system hosting the service (they use a hosting service).

      This is of course assuming they allow all icmp packets to cross their routers.
      I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

        I'm more interested in if school databases are accessed over the local network, or if all of their traffic travels over the internet connection and then back into the school. I'm already pretty sure, based on maintanence messages, that they're at least largely on-site.

                yeah but I liked it! At least you'd know who 'dun it if you have multiple dogs... or maybe not. Maybe you'd just be overcome with craving and not care who or what left it for you.

                About a year ago, my sister took a drink of her kool-aid and it had a big spider in it (drinking while playing FFXI I bet -- something where you're not gonna actually look at your cap). It bit her tongue repeatedly before she was able to spit it out and her tongue was numb for like 2 days.

                  I was drinking a cup of coffee at work one morning and I got this, what looked like, a piece of grass in my mouth. I just pulled it off my tongue and continued to drink. Then I got another piece of "grass" in my mouth. Damn it! Why is there grass in my coffee?! So I continued to drink and towards the end when the coffee became lighter and lighter as I gulped, I saw a giant mosquito eater dead at the bottom of my cup.

                            One time I got bit on the butt in my sleep. I thought the pusse(SP) pimple was a pimple, but it wasn't. I google imaged my "pimple" and lo and behold.. I guess it was a type of staff infection usually caused by a Brown Recluse, but I never went to the hospital cause I didn't get sick or anything. Probly should have still..
