It would also depend on what they are counting in those accident rates. I've seen guys hitting each other all the time (little bumped defenses and/or scratches and stuff), but the serious accidents (totals outside drinking hours) almost always involve a woman. >_<



PS > Now, keep in mind my driving has always been 99% in working hours and in broad daylight. I'm pretty sure statistics would turn around in the party hours with all the silly drunk drivers out there. But I rarely drive at those hours.

I've seen people driving with and without it on both standard and automatic cars and it makes a huge difference in practice.

I freely admit to not being even remotely close to what most would consider a good driver, but I don't cut people off and I always use my signal so I've got that much going for me.

However, if you do something blatantly stupid in front of me, I will fucking let you hear about it. I'm probably an average driver at best. I don't speed as much as I used to, but I still tailgate a fair amount and I stop very short. I like to tell myself it's just my subtle way of testing my brakes, but honestly, I just don't like that whole taking forever to stop and go thing.

Not to mention, the media is flooded with videos of poor drivers that just happen to be female.

I wont brag or anything, but I'm a fucking fantastic driver. I can get from Reston, VA, to Germantown, MD in 30 minutes, when it could be anywhere from 45 minutes to a few hours depending on traffic. I haven't had a ticket in three or four years, either, though tickets don't necessarily mean you're a bad driver.

What bugs me most are the people whom I consider bad drivers. It's my definition, and given the area we're in, I think it's fair. If you're not going at least ten miles over the speed limit, you're a bad driver, and that's one of the bigger parts of the definitions.

I think it's interesting how the studies say one thing but what I've seen on the road while driving all these years points in a completely different direction.

While we're throwing around logical fallacies, I would probably be attracted to a woman with good mathematical skills, and I haven't been interested in a relationship with anybody since elementary school. Therefore I'm straight and women suck at math.

Heheh, nah. The way I see it just because a study says one thing doesn't mean that's all there is to it.

Believing studies like that are the absolute truth is as bad an idea as generalizing on things like gender traits.
