It would also depend on what they are counting in those accident rates. I've seen guys hitting each other all the time (little bumped defenses and/or scratches and stuff), but the serious accidents (totals outside drinking hours) almost always involve a woman. >_<

I've seen people driving with and without it on both standard and automatic cars and it makes a huge difference in practice.
