tomb was easy.

PROTIP: If you're just now getting your first Quickening, you might want to level up a bit more before you go into the tomb. The ability to kill quicker is very useful on the subboss.

Actually, the ability to kill quicker works wonders for the rest of the game (some mobs can take quite a while to take down if you can't insta-kill by Quickening chains, Espers, multi-hit combos, or pack lots of heat from guns).

Guns, btw, own hard for a long time in this game. I managed to snag the ultimate gun early in the game, and Balthier was Haloing it up with killing sprees, double-to-quadruple kills galore, head shots, and Killtastics galore cuz of that thing. Consequently, he was my highest level character for a long time.

yes, but other mobs don't own you upside the face if you take awhile to kill them.

Hell, that was one of the things I didn't like about FFXII, no really long epic fights, with the exception of the fuck-boring "go afk overnight and let your gambits fight for you, then come back in the morning for the actual fight. Afterwards, have lunch." fight.

Once you beat that lvl 99 monster, there's not point to beating the game..

I fucking loved my Gambit's though. Oddly enough, the idea of the game playing itself was very appealing. I liked the fact that I just needed to run through an area, enjoy the scenery, and watch my characters pwn things left and right.

And guns almost become a necessity at one point, because there are some enemies that are ranged... Lame.

Oh and it made sense that enemies just stopped following you after a while if you needed to escape. Did anyone witness animals fighting within their ecosystems?

I think FFXII was a very beautiful game, all around. The grid was kinda stupid.. But with some time set aside to grind, it's not that bad. I tackled all the Green first.. then for some I just went along with it. After a while, everyone's grid was maxed out, and it was a good feeling.

Much easier than the Sphere grid, but with the sphere grid, I found a way to get 99 points in one sitting anyway.

I like shortcuts that are built into the game.

Maybe that's why I loved Gambits.

I actually never used guns as a main weapon, I had Balthier with one for awhile, but never liked it very much. I did have bows, but I mainly used them for pulling, or when I wanted to keep some characters out of AoE range

Fighting, yes. Mainly the mantises outside Garuvegan eating each other, and the T-Rex outside Rabanastre, although I remember a few others too.

I'm one of the few people who liked the grid, but I do wish they would've either made it a single grid for all characters, or at least moved each character around in their own grid. I like having similar characters, but characters that *start* the same is just silly. Some characters should be inclined to certain types of magic or weapons

I'm rather upset that SE didn't re-release the Zodiac Job System version in the states. That's the version you wanted if you really did want characters that were different.

Fran as a Dragoon = ultimate sexiness for me.

I built Ashe as a Paladin anyways, so why not put her on that board?

Vaan went from Thief to Ninja, but I'd put him as Ninja initially anyways, and keep Penelo as my Thief.

Balthier. Ranger. Done.

Basch? Probably Warrior, Dark Knight, or Samurai (most likely Samurai). I just don't see him as a mage type, but if I had to, I'd make him either White Mage or Summoner.

I followed the letter of it.. I think. I gave Ashe the Great Katanas, since they said the damage modifier on that was actually Magic.. IDK, the game was wierd kinda..

I had two set ups.. Vaan, Ashe, Penelo and Balthier, Fran, Basch.

Each setup had a Tank, a DD and a Mage, but they were all Hybrids in their respective classes. The second party I usually switched to for ranged, while the first was everything else. If levels were lagging, I just mix and matched certain party members.

Ashe and Penelo's MP just owns. Basch's MP was abysmal, but I think he was my tank for the first part of the game since I believe he was the first to have a Gambit...

<_<; The bow/arrow and guns were at the point they caused more harm *aggroing mobs when in already drawn out fights cause they like to keep distance*

I have customer service telephone system based rage so please excuse the rant.

It's not the customer service people, most of the time once you (finally) get through to them they are usually o.k assuming you can understand them (a lot of UK companies have their call centers in India, people complained about not being able to understand the operators so they moved them to Scotland ><) it's the options and messages beforehand.

I have been having problems keeping my connection up since yesterday so I phone my ISP company. About 5 menus in I finally get the option I want, the first thing on their 'problems with your connection' option is a looong ass message telling me to go look at their online site. If I had access to my internet, would I be calling your damn tech support helpline?

My rage would have been minimal but when the ISP bounced responsibility to the phone company I spent another 10 minutes on the phone to them listening to a similar message telling me to feel free to use their self service website if I was having problems with my line or internet connection. Grrrrrrr.
