Whoa... Are they still giving people certifications without them knowing about the private IP subnets? I learned that in HighSchool when I was getting my CCNA..

In some fields they want you to have as much as possible. I know that to even be an intern at my summer job, I had to have my CCNA. Which I only had because it was the best option in HS, and I'm a junior in college now and I haven't studied a lick of Cisco since..

But yeah. I'm not really enjoying the whole "Study my ass off for a certification that will expire in 2 years" thing.

Honestly, I want to get my Masters Degree, and then have a comfortable job where I can think about doing a PHD. I don't want to be going to school for the rest of my life.

I think I'm in the wrong field..

I should have been a writer.

Having gone through 50 of those things, not one suprised me.

However it seems most, if not all of the submitters are in the graphics and design side of things. After having been in a meeting with the graphics people here last week, I don't think they have much room to talk about stupid people.

I have not known a project where a client hasn't changed anything, they don't realise the actual impact of it, no matter how small the change!

Was funny today. I sent the piling test results to the Local authority Building control officer only to have it returned by the council filters and a email telling me that i have been reported for sending sexual content. after me blowing my top with their IT guy i narrowed it down to what had happened. The council have a new filter system on the blocks emails and sends warning if they contain certain words. One of tehm is penetration. And if ray is the the trade he'll knwo that when talkign about piling and testing you talk about penetration rates, reaming of holes and vibrators. All 3 are actual true construction technical terminology. I got a very appologetic email from the head of IT but was told i would have to post or fax information in the future as they cannot adjust the filters accordingly.

Yay for super delayed replies.

We sell refrigeration and A/C equipment and parts, also handle medium sized projects on ocasion. And when we do, we gotta deal with all that fun stuff you were talking about.

And there's always someone somewhere that starts grinning when talking about vibrators and the such, it happens all the time. XD

Just be glad I am an architect who actually consults with you for how much of a ceiling void you need for your ducts so you don't end up with a 1' by 5'wide duct just to get the volume needed. i think i gave the engineer a heart attack on the first big project i was involved with when I asked him what space he needed.

Oh yeah and its always the same old problem of us trying to disguise the condensor because the client thinks it looks ugly. Usually a timber fence is errected as the simplist solution, unless we can get them hidden on the roof.

You do much with ground source heat systems?

Heheh, it's like a miracle for an architect to think about space for ducts.

We don't work much with heating systems, but when we do I'm always trying to actually push towards underfloor heating, it's invisible and it rarely has any problems. Unless the client has special plans for the floor that is.

What we focus most of the time is on air conditioning and refrigeration chambers for businesses, not long ago we were working in a new mall that just opened along with many other contractors and suppliers, still, they opened the mall like a month behind schedule because some contractors screwed up big time.

It was fun to watch until it started affecting our schedules.

I'm glad that when we were using Vector is was just on a CD. I really jacked up some settings that day, lol..
