I agree with you about how stupid it is for some people to develop feelings for someone over an online game based solely on their avatar, assuming the real person on the other side resembles that avatar. Yeah, that's pretty dumb. People shouldn't be so inclined to wishful thinking because there's a very high percent chance it's going to bite them in the ass. Yeah, I agree with you there.

However... (I know I just quoted you so don't take this like I'm putting words in your mouth.The latter of this post is merely my own opinion, not a retort.)

I don't think it's too terrible of an idea to form relationships over time with someone whom you actually find yourself spending quite a large amount of time hanging out with late into the night playing the game together, sharing interests and stories, bonding, and whatever else leads from there. After all, MMORPG's are all about the communities.

Telling someone in an online game that they are hot, or pretty, or whatever, is stupid. They don't look like that in real life, and if they did, they would likely be in a cage under scientific scrutiny (hello non-hume races), or they wouldn't be interested in dating your pimply ass.

Haha! It's the damn truth though. People that play video games, especially ones that demand 3/4 of your life aren't very pretty! There's a few exceptions but for the most part... Ehh...

Yeah, this is pretty much what happened to my friend and I. We had both posted pics on our Dynamis LS site so we had no delusions there, we just spent a lot of time duoing and talking, and the attraction blossomed from there. Not unlike if I were talking to someone that I was working on a long time project with at work, or a dance partner or something like that.

But what's so awesome about that is you two can agree upon spending hours in front of a computer! That's a special thing to have! lol I'm serious though. We all know it sucks to have a partner that can't stand the things that you enjoy and get pissy when you don't spend time with them; always playin' games.

Yeah, we were good friends before we got all involved with each other, and it kind of sucks now. Though we both hope to be able to stay friends.

HAHAHAHA, too bad he lives 600 miles away, which, in the grand scheme of things, isn't so far, but if he would be happier with her then who am I to fuck that up, honestly, and I should have realized that to begin with. Besides, they have a kid.

Yeah, it sucks to lose someone you love as much as I love(d) him, but I'm already feeling better about it all and moving on.
