Every since I started Lexapro I gained 40 pounds. This is most likely due to a combination of the drug's effects, such as feeling well enough to enjoy food, feeling well enough to enjoy massive amounts of food, and various other small issues that snowball'd. It's kind of a double whammy, because it's difficult changing the way I eat, and it's difficult getting back into shape when out of shape. What do...
Yes, a side effect of Lexapro is increased appetite. I'm in the same boat. I started taking Prozac recently and gained 30 pounds....but be glad you don't have the other side effect that I have...excessive sweating. /sigh lol

God I hate my periods. You think passing a clot through a vagina is bad? Try it with a penis.

Please tell me that it works like a sprinkler system. Please tell me that you lift your arms and it goes "tch tch tch TINK digga digga" and douses bystanders.
That's the picture in my head... and it amuses me.

What I do sometimes when I need an emergency break is to just tell myself "no shit this week..." so, I write down a list of healthy fat free food and step to it. Buy a ton of vegetables and fruits, especially fruits because they are varied and delicious most of the time. Go on a 1-week Code Red and eat nothing but chicken, tuna, fruits and vegetables. Last time I found some good recipes that would not just make me feel full but also satisfy me and turns out the right seasoning really does wonders.
Great fruit? Kiwi, oranges, pineapple, watermelon. Feast on these. Specially kiwi.. they're incredibly good for you and even help with bowel issues, i went 3 days eating atleast 4 kiwi a day, i wasn't going to back down until my poo was green, didn't take long, i was happy. Oranges are delicious and i find that two or three oranges really hit the spot if im feeling a spike of hunger. Pineapple is a staple of crash diets, i dunno what it is about them but my old nutritionist kept adding pineapple to my plans.
Vegetables... just go nuts. Mash them, steam them, whatever. Add sesame seeds, rice vinegar and maybe some white cheese and anything will taste delicious. Broccoli, spinach, carrots, green bean and cabbage make a great mix, broccoli when done properly tastes so good. I'm not sure if this exists out of the local cuisine but if you boil a bunch of spinach then process them (use A LOT of spinach, they shrink so much), mix flour and butter in a pot and add milk when it cakes up a bit, this should turn into a cream, add in the processed spinach, ITS SO FUCKING GOOD. Feast on this mix, as long as you dont use too much butter it should be safe.
If you can go _one_ week just eating vegs and fruits and the ocasional chicken breast or tuna can, you will feel less cravings after its "over" because youre getting used to it. Then, once its over, try to go back to "normal" but making an effort to snack on fruit and trying to eat more vegs at your meals, specially at night.
Lay of the carbs too. Try to eat no more than two servings of pasta for a week, and go easy on the bread. If you switch to whole wheat carbs, i suppose you can eat more... but the idea of a crash diet is not to lose weight in a week... its to sort of get you started...
... I also like to simply lay off one type of food for a week, but its hard to pick something, one week it'l be sweats, the next it'l be fats... and try to find an alternative that i can snack on or whatever.
I no longer have as much cravings and i dont feel like stuffing myself all the time.
I know this sounds like pep talk but it works for me... i end up looking for new recipes using alternatives to meat or substitutes for carbs.
ps one last tip? leave some food on your plate, dont eat all of it. do this everytime. unless youre really hungry... dont eat those last bits, ask your body if its still hungry or if it just wants to stuff itself again... most of the time its the latter. dont waste food though... leave it for later or something.
._. wallotext, not even gonna bother double checking, lol
