I got my Christmas gifts early this year. When the Grandsons came over to open Santas gifts and asked me what I got, I said that Santa put a big box under the tree and when I opened it, it was filled with so much love from my boys that I was soooooo happy. My eldest said "That would have to be a pretty big box Gramma because I love you so much!" lol Try that next time because children are very sensitive and hearing something so sad is bound to effect them negatively.

Problem is I have to attempt to speak in my broken Spanish which makes it nearly impossible for me to improvise. I did try to correct myself and say, "Well, Grandpa bought me my furniture," but I don't know if he quite got it. I think my kids are starting to understand how languages work and that different people won't always understand them. It's still hard though, and while I am learning, it's still hard. And the kids don't understand the concept of "speak slowly" so I can understand them. It sucks.

To be fair, rather than the forecasted 1 inch, we ended up getting six inches of snow. It wasn't much of a fuss when I went out in it before they cleared the roads.

The thing about our weathermen is they never get close to right about the forecast for snow in this area. When they say we're going to get a lot, we don't get any - this is particularly funny when they cancel school, work and other things for nothing. When they say it'll just be sleet, its an inch of snow. When its an inch of snow predicted, we usually get more.

You go up to Boone, NC, they don't even stop anything after two feet. Fuck you, you're expected to go to work, school, college. To be fair its a tourist town and there are ski resorts not far away. It would look wierd to close everything for snow up there.

It was always fun watching the Charlotte kids at Appalachian State University adapt to the snow. They'd layer up like we were in Alaska, going skiing or something, then try to perform simple things like carry grocery bags across the ice in sneakers.

Went to visit my best friend's family last night since he and his wife were in town visiting his family. They have a four year-old and a baby that's one and a half. Asher is a big baby, only three pounds lighter than his older brother. And his brother seems to have no problem pushing him over a lot. Not that this matters to Asher, he just rolls to the side, gets back up and looks at his brother as if to say "You think I won't close the gap next year? I'mma fuck you up, man."

He's the little brother that will end up being the big brother. He already eats like it.

He was whip-smart, too. While not much for talking yet, he can point out characters and animals, knows what a pirate looks like and got a pirate costume for christmas. He ran around saying "Arrrr." He also retrieves the iPhone when mom and dad lose it and brings it right back to them.

Sounds like my youngest grandson. When he was little we said that he was going to put his brother in his place when he got older and he does! He's also advancing faster than his brother did at his age but thats because he gleans things from his brother and also his parents have been through one kid and are more ready to educate/raise this one. I just get a kick out of when the younger one corrects the older one.....or puts him in his place with a well aimed punch. lol

Back home after spending a few days at parents looking after my niece and nephew. Am tired out from it but am travelling 40 miles north tonight to a friends to see tron legacy at his local cinema and make our home made chineese stirfrys.

Some noisy ghetto bitch is moving into the apartment next door. I hope her noisiness is just contained to the actual moving (and the fact that her door is open and she's yelling down the stairs at the people helping her move) and that she won't be noisy all the time.

Still haven't heard anything. I'm sitting on her Facebook page ... and I just can't unfriend her. I can't bring myself to do it. It's not like she posts often, in fact, she's hardly ever on, but I almost wonder if one day she'd notice, "Oh hey, Julia's not my friend anymore. I wonder what happened to her?" But I can't bring myself to click it.

Maybe someday I'll have the strength to let go. Right now though? Totally don't have it.
