Well considering I can't even get on Facebook, pretty sure damn near everything is blocked. But this site isn't, and neither is fanfiction.net, which means when I get really bored, I can read bad fanfiction and laugh at it.

Sometimes you can read ok fanfic tho! I do that a lot. When forums get boring.

And I've given out my real name (and city!) many times here, and I have yet to be stabbed to death. Though I'm sure it's coming. Maybe for Christmas.

Haha. And yeah, some of it is good. Most of it is crap though, because no one teaches kids how to use proper grammar anymore. And any ship fics written by 14 year old girls who've never been kissed are always amusing, especially the smut ones, though some make me groan so badly I can't even get through them.

I just finished an ongoing Harry Potter Fanfic (I know, I am super nerdy) that I really enjoyed. I mean, it really messes with the mythos a lot, and the characters resemble their canon selves, but only sort of in certain cases. It has been pretty good! (for fan fiction)

A part I found particularly amusing:

"So..." Professor McGonagall said slowly, as though she couldn't believe the words that were coming out of her own lips, "you decided to come to me right away and tell me about it."

"Well, yes, of course," Harry said. There was no need to admit how long it had taken him to actually think of that. "As opposed to, say, trying to research it myself, or telling any of the other children."

"I... see," Professor McGonagall said. "And if, say, you were to discover the entrance to Salazar Slytherin's legendary Chamber of Secrets, an entrance that you and you alone could open..."

"I would close the entrance and report to you at once so that a team of experienced magical archaeologists could be assembled," Harry said promptly. "Then I would open up the entrance again and they would go in very carefully to make sure that there was nothing dangerous. I might go in later to look around, or if they needed me to open up something else, but it would be after the area had been declared clear and they had photographs of how everything looked before people started tromping around their priceless historical site."

Professor McGonagall sat there with her mouth open, staring at him like he'd just turned into a cat.

Because, for serious, canon Harry takes a lot of unnecessary risks.

For a while there they kept releasing them around Thanksgiving-Christmas, so maybe? The first few focused on Christmas a bit. I dunno. The latter ones certainly aren't particularly cheerful.

And thanks to reading the TV Tropes page for that fic, I spent the last two days STUCK at TV Tropes, telling myself that I'd only open one more link. This was it! Just one more link. Ooh! But I want to read about that too!
