Well that's awesome.

Got a call from the unemployment office ... turns out, you can claim reduced hours. Yeah, sure can. Only if you make more than your "weekly benefit amount" (in my case, $184, which is half what a 40 hour paycheck gives me) then you get nothing. Really? Cause I worked about 19 hours my last week, and I haven't worked in over a week. So I get nothing? Oh, I can claim again on November 2nd? That's awesome, because my rent is due on the MOTHERFUCKING FIRST. And yes, I did claim that 19 hour week, apparently that was still too much money I made. (And I made much less than their amount, but unemployment goes by NET pay. Not what I actually take home, which makes it even more unfair because unfortunately I lose a shitload to the fucking government.)

That's just fucking super. So basically, unemployment is a goddamn sham. I'll file for the weeks I didn't work but by then it will be too late.

I hope my dad will loan me the money. Not that I don't already owe him thousands of dollars, but I see no other alternative.

Moving costs money. Besides, I moved south because I hated the north. Not just the cold but the attitudes in general. Living here in Florida is much more suited to my type of lifestyle.

I'll be fine eventually. I'll just borrow a few hundred from my dad and I should be good.

Sometimes I still consider moving to Canada (was going to be either Vancouver or Quebec) but not for the unemployment benefits. <_<;

But I have no idea how immigration laws have been updated in recent years.

Wut? They were captured and occupied by the Japanese during World War II, but prior to that, they were the only US Territory within Micronesia (FSM - Federated States of Micronesia) Currently they share the same status as Puerto Rico being an organized and yet unincorporated US Territory.
