That sounds good Aks especially your interview. Hope things turn around for you really soon so you can get on with your life. How's the economy in your neck of the woods? Things aren't doing so good here despite the noise the state is making about how tourism is returning. Yeah, I don't think spending a night or two in Hawaii w/o spending ANY money on ANYTHING else is going to help business. Most of these people from Asia are here on packaged tours and are probably looking to sell us more cheaply made goods.

The economy here is one of the worst in the country. That's why (if any of you pay attention to sports) you'll hear a lot of talk about Tampa Bay fans not showing up to games - it's because we're broke!

If that one doesn't come through, I have also been working with a temp agency ... they suck, but they do make it easier to find a job. This one puts people in long term positions - some of their temps have been with some companies for five years - so I can temp indefinitely while looking for something else, or even getting hired by the company I'm working for as opposed to working for three months then going somewhere else. It's not ideal, but it's out there.

I think every state has an area with an abysmal economy. It seems that companies are leaving Wisconsin in droves lately. We had to bend over and kiss Harley Davidsons ass while giving them a hand job to get them to stay. I lived through the last big recession we had and I can honestly say that this one is patting that one on the head and telling it to go play. Michigan is a mess. Its always been tough there but this recession has pulled the rug out from under the entire state. All I can say is Good Luck to everyone and I hope that when this shit is all over, we are all left standing.

Speaking of which, if any of you are in the Pacific Northwest and are looking to get into the IT field (especially in the R&D areas -- electrical engineers might find more interest)

Yes, after bitching and moaning about the unfriendly business climate here in the US, the CEO announced that Intel is gonna put their buildings here and spend billions of $$$. Well, considering that China has a death grip on the world's rare earth metals reserve, it wouldn't have matter where Intel put their next new offices at.

I'm of the opinion that this is technically a depression. But "Depression" is bad for business and, therefore, bad for economy. So we'll continue to call it a recession until (if it ever gets...) behind us. Calling hindsight now.

Well they say that GDP is on the rise so that would mean no depression. In fact, they say we are on the way out of the recession. Of course, when you are on the bottom of the pile experiencing the full weight of it, its kind of hard to believe it.
