See if you can at least watch a funny movie. Doesn't have to be prime theater but maybe a matinee or a theater where they'll show slightly older films (~3-4 months old) for $1 (We have that kind of theater here somewhere) Just watch something and laugh your brains out and have a good time. Or if movies aren't your thing maybe quality time with your favorite video game or something

You know, last year when I lost my job, I thought it was the worst thing ever. And to be fair, in a year of shitty things, it was a pretty shitty thing. But now I've realized that it was one of the best things for me. My life has improved by leaps and bounds since that happened. And I'm glad of it.

I only hope this turns out similarly for you.

How good is employment insurance in the states? When I lost my job last year, I was getting 1600 net a month.

You know, last year when I lost my job, I thought it was the worst thing ever. And to be fair, in a year of shitty things, it was a pretty shitty thing.

I got fired once from a job at a chain of convenience stores. I couldn't reconcile the register worth a damn because I couldn't keep Canadien coins from entering the register. I hate handling money because I have no natural affinity with it. I treat it the way you would treat an everyday object and that's probably why I can't keep them around long enough to become wealthy.

I forgot to turn my alarms off this morning, so I found myself getting up at 6:20 regardless of the fact that I have nowhere to be. And because I'm usually up at that time, I had to get out of bed and pee, then I needed a drink, then I figured I'd check my e-mail, and then I was just up. But I guess that's good, I don't wanna get in the habit of sleeping in because I'm not going to be unemployed for that long.

Canadian coins are accepted at face value in the US. There is no need to keep them out or for them to prevent you from reconciling a register.

You live in some weird, terrorist loving parts of the US, Mhurron. I've never seen any store that had a policy of accepting Canadian dollars as equal to US dollars; either they don't notice, don't care, or do care and either set separate prices or tell you to feck off.

I said coin, to an American, that means Quarters, Dimes, Nickels and Pennies. The Loonie and Toonie have no analogues in standard US circulation.

Canadian coins of 25 cents or less have, for as long as they have been the same size and shape, been accepted at face value in the US.

Just not in vending machines. But yeah, canadian coins have generally been accepted everywhere I've worked that takes cash as payment.

I've found the further north you go in the States, the more common they are. Which is kind of a given, based on proximity and all, but still. I hardly ever see Canadian coin here, where I'd see a lot of them when I lived in PA.

Well I live pretty far north and they aren't accepted here. Of course, you can slip one by the cashier by engaging in a conversation and distracting her but if they notice they won't take them.

Where you live, but not here in Hawaii. It's considered "trash" and gets put aside. Sure, they can recover *some* money but none of the banks will take it face value. They already have to deal with won, yen, baht, etc ... they don't need to have to add CD to that.

Good luck with the interview on tuesday *hugs*. I start my new job on Monday was thankfull to only be off work for 4 weeks. I got it through word of mouth and a recomendation. You seem to put alot of commitment into work so i hope someone sees that and snaps you up for your potential. chin up.
