Had a favourable interview yesterday for a job on the coast. Start a week Monday on a 3 month trial. They will also help me with getting a house in 3 months from their stock. So worth me going for it (and get me out of this hell hole of a house)

So my air conditioner (which is set to Auto) seems to have trouble recognizing that since I've set it to 80, I don't want it to keep going when it gets to 80, or even further below there, to 75. Yet my AC seems to believe that when I say 80, I mean 75, and keeps on going. Even though it's on Auto, and it should turn off when it reaches the temperature I've set.

I only put the AC on for a few hours today (and it had been off almost the entire week, saving money ftw), but it annoyed me that after a couple of hours of continuous running, the damn thing went down to about 73 before I noticed and turned the fucker off myself. Hello, Mr. AC Unit, I set you to 80 for a reason. It's not that fucking hot out anymore, and I don't mind sweating a little bit when I'm saving a boatload on my electric bill. Kthx.

Thermostats have a tolerance level of so many degrees. If you have it set to 80 and it has a 2 degree tolerance, it should kick on at 82 and run until it's 78. Sounds like yours is set too high. If you have a digital thermostat you should be able to change it through that, otherwise there's a screw or knob on the inside.

If that spider is anywhere near the sensor (if that old thing even works that is) it can be insulating it and making it read higher than it should.

But yeah, that's for your friend to check out and fix.

Amen to that! Do you watch Grey's Anatomy? My hubby does and I'm usually in the room when he does so I catch bits and pieces of it. Well there was a guy that had HPV with a genetic fault that caused them to become hard horn like growths on his body, his hands in particular. They had him in surgery and were trying to remove as much of the growth as possible so he'd have use of his hands. The growths made his hands look like huge claws that were twisted and tangled. While the female doctor was cutting away a piece at a time suddenly this HUGE FAT SPIDER came out from inside a tangle of the growths. I nearly shit myself...it was so disgusting. I can't stand spiders printed on paper (I won't touch the page wherever they are), on tv (I try not to watch anything with a spider involved or I'll leave the area), and in person, I'd probably stay in a burning room than open the door and have to walk past spiders. Ditto for cockroaches but not quite as bad as spiders.

Okay I'm not that bad with the spiders, but definitely with the roaches. My deal with spiders is that as long as they stay outside of my "bubble," I will leave them alone. Roaches, on the other hand, must die on sight. Spiders die only when they come too close.

I think I'm done with FFXIV and Starcraft 2.

FFXIV does not have nearly enough polish for my taste. I'm getting tired of guessing at everything, and understanding nothing. How can I increase my success in crafting? Who knows! Certainly not by crafting better tools that have better stats, that does absolutely nothing. What do the colors mean? Who knows? White means elephant! Orange means chop sticks! Red means purple! Oh God, just hit buttons and hope you win. Levequests are now boring, and annoying due to seemingly random difficulty. The stars don't really mean much when one day I'm soloing it at three stars and the next my four-player party is getting slaughtered at five stars.

Starcraft 2 has so much wrong with it, but is that really a surprise? Blizzard still has yet to master balance in WoW, so what exactly was I expecting? Oh, maybe a decent unit AI? When I tell units to go somewhere, I expect them to go there. Banelings basically attack something by running into it, but when I tell it to attack a wall blocking a ramp, why does it attempt to go around? How does that make any sense? Tier one units are so powerful that you're better off massing them as soon as possible. On top of that, the game is plagued by idiots who quit every game to farm fast wins, random disconnects that boot you from games, and so few people playing in some game types that you're pitted against people from every league. Oh, and their ranking system is so stupid I'm actually amazed any of these people have jobs, or brain cells.

lol Tonight we had a 3 man and we did a leve at difficulty 4, had no problems, and finished fairly quickly. A friend logged in and had the same quest so we were like "oh sure come on over and we'll go out and do it again with you no problem!" We tell him that we just did it with 3 at difficulty 4 so he takes difficulty 5. This should be no problem again, maybe a tad more difficult but nothing we can't handle. We pull the first Imp and are killing it just fine when it does two AOE abilites back to back for 500-700 damage each...wipe. We go back up, think its a fluke, and try again. Same shit. Repeat this over and over. That is seriously fucked up SE! So I totally understand Dak. The only thing keeping me in this game are my son and my friends and maybe 10% of myself because I just don't want to give up on it....it has such great potential!

Sometimes I think the only way I'm going to play a MMORPG that I consider done right is to make it myself.

FFXI is pretty enjoyable still however. My real complaint about it is that SE needs to develop nonombat events a bit more.

So my forensic serology midterm is tomorrow (first grad school midterm, whoopie ; ; ) and really trying not to get distracted since this is all bio stuff and I am a chemist. (before you ask, first semester, everyone has to take a broad range of forensics before they go down their start specializing.) This has been perking me up. I watch it anytime I need a laugh while I am neck deep studying shit (literally)

Dude, were the Spartans freakin' invisible or do I just suck at Googling?

I can't find any bad choices they made throughout their Greek life span. This book doesn't explain anything, and Google mostly thinks I'm talking about the football team!

I'm about to say screw it and use the 300 movie as a reference!
