But your point and what you're saying are two different things. Your point is that spitting is disgusting. This is a personal opinion, one which I mostly agree with.

Then you go and use the 'appeal to authority' fallacy as a defense. That something is illegal has very little to do with whether it's permissible, except for the opinions of the people that wrote the law.

Indeed. Just ask all the same-sex couples currently prohibited from getting civil marriage licenses. If the people writing the laws are somewhat reasonable, there's usually not much of an issue. If the people writing the laws are religious extremists bent on forcing everyone to live according to their religion's strict moral code, the lines get a bit fuzzier.

Spitting is nasty (clearly more so to some than others), but the aesthetic part isn't what makes it problematic. It's the whole "infectious disease" potential thing that caused people to pass laws against it.

My guy went on vacation last week and he came back late Sunday night, so I didn't see him until work on Monday, and I gotta say, he's changed, and I don't feel as close to him now. I don't know what's going on, I know that he's dealing with his ex-wife and he's worried about his cousin that he went to visit (who's getting smacked around by her husband, though apparently she's kicked him out it's probably not going to end that easily), but even with all that, I'm not really sure what the rift is here. I'm prepared for the worst, though.

As a man, we may seem distant sometimes. We may not always profess our love every few minutes, but that doesn't mean things have changed. Granted, distant behavior may also mean your being cheated on, so it's important to probe if you feel it might be going in that direction.

"That cereal guy" and I broke up over a year ago. Yeah, the guy I've been seeing from my office but off the record since we work together.

And we had a great talk last night, don't want to go into details, but I'm feeling better about it now. He was very distant, turns out his ex-wife is starting some shit and it's just got his head all fucked up, honestly, I understand. Been there. Lol.

Just because you are going to the toilet doesn't mean you aren't carrying some undesireble germs with you before doing your business, not to mention you are going to deal with hidden places that are susceptible to infection.

But that's just me, I've always asumed washing your hands before and after was common practice. o_O;
