Living in Florida, I feel really fucking stupid being as white as I am. I try to get outside, but there's this thing ... it's fucking hot here. Why does the sun have to be so damn hot? (Grumbles)

Oh I was going to answer that it has to be so that we don't end up like those poor people in that Twilight Zone episode where the earth was slowly drifting away from the sun. Though I preferred it to the beginning of the episode, where the person dreamed they were drifting closer. I know how I'd much rather die, that's for damn sure.

Summer weather in the south east is never fun. Its just the humidity.

We had a nice few days earlier in the week, even if it looked a bit dreary and overcast. There was no humidity and I actually wanted to be outside. Of course when ever I'm outside and want to do something or be somewhere, rain usually follows me. I was drenched on the way into that DQIX event at Gamestop. And while I was drenched was exactly the time the Nintendo rep wanted to take a picture of everyone there.

Not that I didn't want the rain, we totally needed it.

But now the humidity is back. Fall can't get here soon enough.

Aksannyi - Even though it's, like, in your profile, I totally was going to ask what part of FL you live in. My brother is in St. Petersburg, which I think is near Tampa. I dunno. I could look at a map, but you know...effort.

It's about 20 minutes away (uh, in good traffic. Traffic is usually teh suck here, so probably closer to like an hour and a half most of the time. I did most of my traveling across the bay at like 3 AM, though, which greatly decreases travel time) from where I live. I actually lived on that side of the bay for about four months when I first moved here.

So, one solid week after the move and the carrying of dozens of boxes up to my small apartment, I've still got a pretty massive mess in the living room, but I'd say 2/3 of the shit that was in the living room has been sorted and put away throughout the apartment. My closet is completely organized, the bathroom is pretty much good except for the fact that I need to buy a medicine cabinet, and I've got half a dozen boxes sorted and put off to the side for things I'm going to sell at a yard sale that I'm borrowing my friend's yard for.

Tomorrow, I'll try to spray paint some of the stuff I want to paint black (yes, I am hearing the Stones in my head right now as I think of painting things black), I'll finish hanging pictures/decorations on the walls, and I'll attempt to clear the rest of my living room of all of the remaining boxes.

But whether or not I do it all remains to be seen. At any rate, my dad refused to shop for a sofa with me while he was here because I'd have no place to put it, though he did promise to loan me the money to pay for it, so with any luck, I can have the living room cleared this week so I can beg the money from him and finally put the finishing touches on my apartment by actually having a living room.

And then, for the love of god, I am going to stay here for at least the next few years so I don't have to deal with this horrible bullshit of moving again. Until I buy a house, in which case, I will never move again after that. Ever.

Glad you've gotten moved in!

I'm looking for a place of my own. I am thinking about this place, here. It's just a few blocks from where I am right now, and I have loved the building for years (it's hard to get into). So I think I'm going to check it out.
