If your going to stoop low and get into that argument ....

1. America only got involved when pearl harbour was bombed by the Japaneese before that they refused to help. Before that the Canadians, Austrialians and Indians were fighting alongside us. (And lets not talk about the french.....)
2. All the countries that speak english do so due to our, granted not pc, imperialism when we colonised them. Don't forget we colonised America, pilgrim forefathers etc. thats why you speak english...
3. And wasn't it American capitalism and all the banks that have caused the world wide recession?

You may sit on your high horse feba, but in reality, you came from us, your countrymen just wrote more bizarre laws than ours did and polluted the queens/kings language. (and we do still have some bizarre old laws!!)

2. The countries that speak English as their day-to-day language, sure. But the English language would be lost to places like India and Hong Kong if not for America's power reinforcing it. And I'm more talking about the fact that people in every place on Earth speak English, with the exception of some isolated tribal groups. If you go on holiday, you will run into someone else who speaks at least some degree of English.

And actually no, I think the number of my countrymen from Britannia is only around half. My ancestry is a mix of Scandinavian and Spanish (via the Caribbean). Either way, just goes to show how your countrymen flocked here because we're just that much better.
