Well in the Uk we've been a tad busy due to the dry weather, I have been looking at what my ex collegues down in London have been doing, this was from Friday -sunday just around London..... (i've americanised it for you guys)

Friday - Heathrow Cargo terminal 7th alarm (23 pumpers, 4 arieals, 2 HAzmat units, 2 High volume pumping units, Decontamination unit) http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-...15662217?f=rss
Also on friday at the same time their was a 3rd alarm at a cafe in Liverpool street station ( http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/vid...=searchresults ) , 3 2nd alarm fires and in the evening a 6th alarm fire on the border of Greater London & Kent. involving 18 pumpers and 2 ariels +support http://www.kentonline.co.uk/kentonli...n_blaze-1.aspx

Saturday was the biggy, in Surrey near the border with London their was an 8th alarm heathland fire involving 30 pumpers, 10 land drovers, 3 water carriers, 2 high volume pumping units, 35 hecteres of heathland went up, started by a disgarded fag.

Plus their was still 15 pumpers at Heathrow and 10 in Kent at the time as well as two 3rd alarm fires in London and their bread and butter stuff. 10 crews from up to 100 miles away were assisting covering London on standby they were so stretched.

Its seeing these great working jobs that I feel sadened by what happened to our station which led to my redundancy from the fire service. And now facing a prospect of future redundancy in architecture I just want to get back into it and be on teh front line again, but alas more cuts are predicted as the government tries to shave off more than £6bn from our national debt.

Sorry, it's not an 'age counts' thing. The reason the world speaks English is because of successful American capitalism, not because of failed Britannic imperialism. There's also the whole "Europe would be speaking German if we hadn't saved your asses" thing. Be thankful we saved you from that trainwreck of a language, and accept that America is just fixing the shit you broke.
