My job at the office keeps getting weirder.

My boss wants me to drive another employee's car to his(the boss's) house on my way home from work since I walk. It's preferable to walking the whole way but still...

Only 2 more hours, I can't wait to get out of here and lose myself in the weekend.

So today's been odd.

Mom de facto kicked out her little brother, who's been living with us for over a decade now. She tried to talk to him about how he and his fiancée are making messes and not cleaning them up, and how they're costing us more in utilities now. He got pissy, said they're barely here and started talking about all the costs they have (as if we don't have any), and so on. He uses the f-bomb at one point, which I mean, not so odd in some families, but you hear it maybe once a month in our house, and never directed at each other. Mom talks about it with their mother, she agrees that he's being childish and that it would be best to just tell him not to pay next month but to just get out. So he's packing now. Pretty appalling to look at him pack though; he spent hours bringing boxes out to his jeep and the room still is a mess. Not to mention he's paying $300 rent and getting hundreds of square feet in finished basement, and hundreds more in unfinished basement; plus all the utilities he can use, including laundry which they only seem to do here, cable TV and internet, softened water, etc. He was only supposed to have one bedroom (and that's still a fucking amazing price! we could easily rent one room for a hundred dollars more, let alone the basement), but at some point he took over the entire basement.

At some point while he's packing, a rabbit runs in the house. That was fun.

Meanwhile, mom is becoming physically attached to the couch, thanks to the company she's working with. "Oh, we'll fly you home, but you have to get up before 6 to have this thing finished, and then we have another meeting from 6PM to midnight"

Got word from Japan that because of organizational issues, they'll be sending the invoice after I arrive, which has the coordinator for my college here confused and worried.

And I wrote to grandparents I haven't spoken to in years. Mom's trying to ask them for help with paying for tuition, they asked if I'd write. Of course I did, not even really for the money, it's just that I don't call or mail people to keep in touch, so if I don't talk to someone on a regular basis, chances are I don't talk to them at all. Plus I don't really have much to talk about, so it was basically "School! And uh, I guess I've found some neat stuff thrift shopping? My life is not so amazing."

Sounds so much like my daughter. So darn ungrateful and disrespectful. She had the entire lower level to herself while she lived here....the entire lower level. We were rarely downstairs and usually only to grab something to eat out of OUR kitchen. Other than that we were upstairs in our small bedroom. Felt like a prison after 18 months. Hopefully your mom will be less stressed once they are gone. They are adults and can provide for themselves and maybe a bit of hardship will help them appreciate what people have done for them in the past. It didn't work for my daughter but hopefully it will for your uncle.

That 'she can't get away from her computer' thing probably won't change, unfortunately... she's been working 60 hour weeks. And traveling back and forth to Jersey.

Honestly, I'm kinda worried about him. He and his fiancée seem to be somewhat in denial about how relationships; they really seem to think they won't have any problems. Oh well. He's only lived on his own for a few months before; other than that he's always lived with either his mom or mine. He's twice my age; he should be able to handle himself, but he hasn't really shown it.

Of course! That was actually part of what I wrote to him. "I've got tons of people I'm going to try to write to, so I won't be able to write to anyone frequently, but I'll try to send you something". I like getting little gifts, and I've gotten something from everyone I intend to write anyway, so I'm going to try to spread out purchases and send out little packets. I'll definitely try to return the favor.
