No one knows for sure, but I think it has to do with shoddy manufacturing and overheating. And Bill Gate's evil magic.

Heat, Power Supply, Planets being out of alignment, VGA Card, Hard Drive, Dust, Martians, Y2K, Virus, etc. Take your pick LOL.

I was hoping it was dust since I opened my 360 up awhile back when I was having problems to remove the dust from it. I'd actually like to try a new power supply if I could find a decent OEM one that works.

On a related note, iTablet will be announced in 30 minutes or something. I am not interested in this thing at all but I still have a liveblog ready to refresh when the conference starts. Maybe they'll surprise me with something unexpected.

This remains to be seen. I believe that with the correct price point this could be a popular product. It's not for me, but there's a LOT of hype surrounding it.

Never underestimate technology. There wasn't a market for PDAs, because who would replace their organizer with an expensive piece of electronics? Now the PDA market has already pretty much died, but all of that went into the smart phone market. Ebook readers were thought to be simply not of interest to more than a niche market, before Amazon started selling out of Kindles. MP3 players weren't very popular until the iPod came out, and now most of us probably can't imagine walking around listening to music on a full size CD player. For awhile, people thought video games were a fad, and that the industry was dying. And then came Nintendo.

One product can revolutionize an industry, and Apple has done it before with the iPhone, which wasn't launching into a wide-open field with few decent competitors. If any company can make the tablet computer a mainstream success, it is probably Apple. It all depends on what the product is, how they handle it, and how people respond; and Apple is very good at the handling part, and people are already responding to a product that essentially does not exist.

I'm a slow adopter of new technology. I still think Smartphones (blackberrys, iphones, etc) are for business professionals.

Tablets seems too niche, but I guess time will tell.

I hate apple products.

Yes, that's part of what I'm saying. Apple doesn't just have customers, they have fans. There are people who will buy this Tablet simply because they love Apple products. You wouldn't get that same response from Dell, Toshiba, Sony, or really any other company.
