I had a turtle once. I forgot his name, but he was always on the move too. Slow as a tortoise had no meaning to him.

Ya I had a turtle when I was little. It was a fad back then, all the kids had them but my parents wouldn't buy me one. So being the motivated child that I was, I walked down to Kosciuszko Park in Milwaukee which was about 1.5 miles from home. I was 6 yrs old at the time and walking down busy Lincoln Ave was probably not the brightest idea. I took some string, some left over ham from supper, and an empty bag from a loaf of bread. When I got there, I tied the string to a stick and tied a piece of ham to the string. It took a few hours but eventually I got a turtle that wasn't too big. I put water in the bag and put the turtle in the bag and walked home. TA-DA...screw you mom I have a turtle! LOL

So every day I would kiss my turtle goodbye before going to school. Back then who knew you could get some nasty shit from kissing reptiles! LOL Well one day, my turtle decided to show me that he either didn't want me to go to school or he was sick and tired of me kissing him. I gave him his daily kiss and he latched unto my lower lip and would NOT let go. There were lots of tears, blood, and screaming....not me, my mother...she doesn't do well with reptiles or blood. My dad was already off to work so she had no idea what to do and called the police. The cop told me to sit at the kitchen table and rest the turtle on the table and close my eyes........and then he chopped off its head. Traumatic childhood experiences ftw.

Today was a series of things that I am sure I will regret.

That is why today was awesome.

I found a turtle, and decided to make it a pet.

I decided to go an event at my college. With my mother.

I decided to attend a class at that event taught my one of my teachers.

I decided to introduce myself to some of the big wigs at said event, and probably made an ass of myself in the process.

All of these seemed like the right thing to do at the time, and could still possibly turn out to have been the right thing to do all along. This day could very well hold multiple REVOLUTIONARY MOMENTS in my life. However, I still feel a sense of doom hanging over everything.

One big wig making sure he got my name isn't helping here.

Nearly killed myself with a hot bath last night. Turns out I have some sort of flu as well. Which apparently demands cold baths instead.
