"People" do, however that doesn't make it right. That's like if somebody asked, "If you found out a way to easily steal $1,000,000 without anybody ever catching you or finding out, would you do it?" just because you "could" steal the money and not be caught, it is still stealing and illegal.

He makes a logical flaw on every fucking page. So far, he has presented ONE argument that I would've agreed with partially. Except that I recently learned the part I would've agreed with (see Dan Pink on the surprising science of motivation | Video on TED.com ) is DEAD WRONG. So yeah, he can't make a point to save his life.

I mean if he was doing a good enough job of making his case that you had to actually think about how he was wrong, if you actually had to reinforce your own position, I could see continuing. As it is, reading his vomit fruitless.

I was hoping you'd lead me into a whole cakes eating cakes cannibalism thing, but I'm glad you don't get it either. In this scenario, the cake represents something coveted, while the eating of the cake implies some sort of enjoyable disposability, which isn't a word. So, I'm guessing you covet the cake for it's beautiful cakeness, while at the same time yearn to devour it. I dunno.

Yeah, you've started to make that very apparent. I'm sure everybody has a different sense of morals, but there is no reason anyone could give me would change my position on being unfaithful to a spouse. If a person feels that they can't be faithful then they should stay single. Don't screw up somebody else's life because you want the proverbial cake.

There's gonna be other factors at play. Even if no negative consequences ever fell on him, I doubt Pwn would steal the million dollars if he knew that money was going to be used to feed starving orphans or something. It's not a black and white decision for everyone in every circumstance. There's a biologically coded understanding of what is and is not acceptable at a basic level, but in most cases it comes down to a cost-benefit analysis. How much harm are you doing vs how much benefit do you expect to reap from that action, for yourself or others? I doubt that a true moral absolutist exists if the dilemma was extreme enough.

If your wife is ok with a sexually open relationship then there's very little apparent harm to be done in having a little cupcake on the side. If she wants a wholly monogamous partnership and trusts you to maintain it then the potential cost of destroying your relationship and crushing the spirit of someone you ostensibly care very much about should weigh heavily against your desire to wave your wang around.

I'll agree with that, the key thing is "if" though. I forget that many of the decisions I make are based on my beliefs and values and sometimes I calculate my religious values in there too. That is why I feel that in a monogamous relationship that there should be no sideplay, if you get married then it should just be the two of you. Otherwise you may end up in a stupid situation like my next door neighbor who was cheating with the woman around the corner. He ended up getting the woman on the side pregnant which, when the wife found out about it, lead to their divorce.

If the money was just sitting in someone's bank account and doing absolutely nothing, especially if they had several million more to play with, fuck them, they can share. If they're doing absolutely nothing with the money they won't miss it.

There are more than plenty of people out there who have a ton of money that they'll never use in their lifetime, or their great-grandchildren's even.
