Got 3 new macs for the office today, will be setting them up tomorrow.

their 3.06ghz Imacs with 4gb ram, 512mb HD graphics card 1 tb drives and 24" screen version. with os 10.5, great looking keyboard as well, its aluminium. we should be able to run teh latest archicad on them now and teamwork via the timecapsule we have that can act as a network drive.

Ok, going to vent here because hubby is tired of listening to me and my bff is in the hospital so they've got enough on their mind. Well my mother had pneumonia in the middle of summer and the day I was dreading was closing in. It was very bad and we got her to pull out of her funk by reminding her that one of her treasured grandsons was getting married and he was counting on her to be there. So she recovered and my sisters went back to sticking their heads in the sand and not listening to me about her health. Sometimes is f'in sucks to be the only educated person in the family because when they need your brain, its all good but when they'd rather not know the reality of things, then you're a nuisance.

Well I made her get a cat scan when we got back from the wedding and the results were supposed to be sent to me but for some reason they sent them to my mother. Well I called her and had to berate her into reading the damn letter to me because she's so damn stubborn. ("Oh I'm fine now it doesn't matter." "It said I'm fine and to have another scan in 3 months" "Oh it says I'M OLD!! But we already know that so lets not bother.") Well she has a mass (possible tumor or enlarged gland) and COPD. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is emphysema. So after I was done talking to her, I call my sisters and try to get them to understand that they need to help now with her care, appointments, making food for her, etc. Ya...that went over like a fart in church. You know.....I REALLY REALLY got the short end of the stick when it came to families. I'm the youngest of all the kids AND I'm sick, yet I have had the majority of the responsibility thrust on me.........and not only for my mother but for my aunt also. (Her 39 yr old daughter that STILL LIVES AT HOME just can't handle helping her out with personal things like doctors appointments, getting her meds, clipping her toenails, etc)

You know...I'm starting to believe that this really is hell.... /sigh

*comfort* i feel for you TGM, its called the blind leading the blind, I have to look after my friend whos hosuebound and I have a spinal problem, his mother expects everyone to run rings around her and she does F all. hes i hospital after another suspected DVT, I rushed over their last saturday to let paramedics in as I;m a registered key holder, did 38 in a 30 zone and got pulled by the plod, he followed me to my mates flat and saw me let paramedics ina nd go through the usual prcess of getting my mate to hospital (ended up 2 ambulances a patient transport vehicle 6 paramedics as the bariatric unit was off the run!!) while I was dealing with teh paramedics the plod was writing me a speeding ticket. Paramedics were discusted but plod just told me "i;m not the emergency services so i ahve no excuse", as he watches paramedics stick various needles of drugs into my unconcious mate. I now have to pay a £60 fine and go to a speed reduction seminar to stop myself getting points on my liscence...

Wow you had an emergency and they ticketed you? You could most likely get it dismissed with proof of the incident. Hospital bill or note..

Back when I took a trip to visit my kids, I took a bunch of videos, but I'd forgotten about them when I got home because my laptop didn't have QuickTime. I finally broke down and downloaded it (hate QT a lot) when I found these videos just hanging out, unwatched, and I laughed really freaking hard at this one.

We went through a similar situation with my grandmother. My mother is the youngest of my grandma's children, and when my grandma had to go to the nursing home, my mom got like 0 support from her siblings. She was pretty much the only one going out to the home to see her while her brother and sister basically just went about their way. Before grandma went to the nursing home, my mother had a hired nurse going to see her at her house, and the hired nurse just loved my grandma. Eventually my aunt retired from her job and she stopped helping my mom pay the nurse to come out. Eventually when my grandma ended up in the nursing home, the nurse still went out to see her on occasion, and if nobody there could get her to eat, Rhoda definently could. I really hated that it went down that way, because it drove a wedge in between my mom and her siblings. They didn't really runite until after my grandma passed away back in 2007.

Yep, this will probably cause a big rift between me and my sisters. There are 4 of us and 3 of them had not talked to me for 5+ years. My oldest sister is going on 10 years without talking to me over gossip she heard. (Gossip pisses me off. If I hear something that upsets me I always go to the person that was supposed to have said it and ask them point blank if they did. But some people aren't mature enough to do this obviously...even though she's 20 years older than me.) Well the eldest sister is still not talking to me but the other 2 are and that just happened last December that they started communicating with me. Now this crap is happening and probably by this coming December they won't be! I can't tell you how many times the thought of being a hermit actually sounded good....in fact, VERY GOOD! lol

But I'm sorry to see that your mother has gone through this too. In a way, its comforting to know that its not just me but its still disturbing because I wouldn't wish it on anyone. At least you now have the knowledge of how this family bs can tear everyone apart and hopefully you won't go down this path any time in your life.

Wow TGM, sorry to hear all that. I would say maybe you guys need to talk and get hired care, but I seriously doubt that'll go by smoothly with how you're describing the situation already.

Oh man Aks! You went and made me cry! I miss my grandkids so much now that they are out of my house. My daughter doesn't let me see them anymore. (It's her sick way of punishing me for making her move out and be more responsible.) Just another thing to deal with.
