sooo, I just had a cust call in (to comcast) and tell me that he just spit tobacco down into his modem and wants to know if pouring water into it will was it out of there ok.

I love my job!

When you get those calls its amazing how intelligent you feel...

I would loose patience in your job amb at least when i phone our interent support (usually when they email server goes down or screws up) I would ahve done everything you would normally spend the first 10 minutes telling me to check so i usually run through the checklist to the lass on teh phone while having a natter as well.

My boyfriend just called me to inform me that his cable is out, and he won't have internet today.

Christ, no TV and no internet? I think I'd kill myself. I did offer for him to come to my place (after I get out of class, that is) but he probably won't.

I thought I couldn't survive without TV and Internet....Then I visited my brother for a few weeks and I went about 5 days without it. I just popped in Matrix Reloaded and put it on endless loop and played Xbox.

I can't do it. TV I can live without, but not internet. There's nothing else to do. After messing with Photoshop for a few hours making some new sigs, and playing Solitaire, I just want to kill myself.

I can, but I honestly prefer not to. I have a stack of books I'm working my way through right now, so even no TV would be ok. But if for some reason both were out, I'd likely leave the house and go do something else. I spent all winter indoors. No more!

See, the problem with leaving the house and going somewhere is that most things cost money, and I have none. :/ Although if my shit's out, I go to my boyfriend's house. If that weren't an option, I'd go to the beach or a pool (if it were warm enough), get a horrible sunburn, then go home and cry myself to sleep because of said horrible sunburn.

Seriously, ever try sleeping with a really bad sunburn? It SUUUUUUCKS. Better if you can sleep naked, but I have roommates. ><

I don't either. I just go bike riding, or go play tennis, or go to a museum, or go to the library. All of these things are free. But I hear you.

I've done a pretty decent job of weening myself off TV. There are still some shows I watch, but I know I can catch up with them on Hulu if it really bugs me. Without internet, though, that'd be rough.

Bit of advice, a lot of libraries carry video games now. And not Oregon Trail (although, if you have something against playing Oregon Trail you're a moron), my local library actually carries such gems as Okami and Super Mario Galaxy. And of course even more carry movies, so you could pick up some classic bits of cinema you haven't seen before.

Just make the most of it. I might be the last person you'd expect to go without internet, but it's not that bad when you have back-up plans for entertainment.

Although, I do have to say that computers feel incredibly useless without internet access. Which is kind of weird, they were plenty useful when they were far less powerful and nobody knew what this "intornet" doohickey was anyway.

lol yeah i came back about 5 months ago, just before fields of valour and my joy of teh game has returned as I can do more soloing and have got dragon which is now at 28 the extra valour quests in highlands etc and now in elshimo ares will help me even more.

Shame the 9pm (GMT) end of maintenance has passed.. I have the updates, but not able to play
