    IDK what the deal is with the snow lol. Flint, Michigan got almost a foot on Friday, 2-3 inches on Sunday morning and we had wind gusts about 30-40MPH. It said it was about 13 degress outside, but the way that wind was blowing I woulda said it was -5. I think Tuesday night we are supposed to get 3-5 more inches of snow. I was kinda glad we got that snow on Friday. Since all the schools districts we service closed, we closed too so we got a Snow Day as well.

      Ya it was -38 with the wind chill here on Sunday when were were shovelling out yet again. For 4-5 days before Christmas I do all my baking and I use our unheated sunroom as a refrigerator to chill dough. So I made up some cookie dough to chill it on Sunday, put it out there, and 20 minutes later I went to get it to roll out cookies and it was frozen solid. >< Took me twice as long to do my damn baking because the cold was working against me.

      Flint huh? Most of my husband's family lives in the area, most of them are in Swartz Creek. He grew up in Lennon and his father and stepfather worked for GM....like a lot of people in Flint did back in the day. LOL

        Both of my parents and my grandfather retired from GM lol. Mom retired back in 04, dad back in 93, and my grandfather retired i think over 40 years ago.

          My husband worked for GM in Oak Creek, WI unfortunately. He was forced into retirement a few years ago when things started to go sour and now with all the major troubles they are having he could lose his pension and healthcare. I keep living on the mantra that the government can't afford to let the auto industry go under but I'm scared to death. No healthcare is my death warrant sad to say. We've bought my cemetery plot, crypt, headstone, and casket already.....as morbid as that sounds it is practical.

            If you're really hurting for money, you could sell back the funeral materials and just invest in some Hefty bags and shovels. Not nearly as morbid, and even more practical! It wins on every level.

                I figured nobody would even think about or comment on TGM's post, once again I was wrong...FEBA TO THE RESCUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                On a sidenote, fanboys no longer have to get buried in vain. They can take their favorite team with them....Yes that is a Red Sox casket.




                I think I'll hold out for the Final Fantasy Themed Casket. With handpainted pictures of all the main characters including my FFXI character with his Warrior Gear on.

                  AHAHAHAHAHA the people at my work just owned themselves...So originally I was supposed to be let go on 11/31, however they decided they weren't ready to do without me yet, so they asked me to stay on through the end of December since nobody knows how to do exactly what I do. In addition to our severance package, they also have to pay out any unused vacation time we have accrued. I had used all of my '08 vacation time already...however vacation time renews itself(and adds an extra day per year) on the anniversary of your hire date.

                  I was hired on 12/11...so I just banked an extra 85 hours of pay since they weren't ready to do without me a few weeks earlier. It still sucks that I have to find a job, but I now have over 3 months worth of paychecks to hold be over until I find one at least.

                      Not hurting for money yet Feba. LOL Its only if they take away hubby's pension and health benefits and thats if GM doesn't get bailed out. But I'd rather die and be buried with dignity than to die and be buried in a hefty bag tyvm!

                      Yep I'm right there with you. I wouldn't mind having a FF themed casket myself. FYI, its in my burial instructions that an SNES with FF2 (US) be put in my casket with the controller firmly planted in my hands. Hmmmm...I do have a friend that paints Harleys. I bet he'd do a casket if I asked him to but then I'd have to find a place to store it.

                          Our truck has something like 239,000 miles on it, and while it does have it's issues, they're at least about once a year or something like that.

                          Still though, for a 20 year old truck that is pretty good IMO, and I can at least attest to the durability of at least that particular make of Chevy truck.
