I now have 45 days to either take a job with triple the commute time(minimum) or find a new job and take my 10 weeks severance. At least that's a solid amount of time.

Only good things about my job are Benefits and time off due to the fact that we are a school district and the people I work with. Everything else sucks lol.

Well more that I'll get into higher pay. Basically I've accepted them paying me poorly since they let me show up late every day, do whatever I want, and put forth 10% effort. Now I need to kinda get serious, get a better paying job, and actually work when I show up.

I boiled spaghetti noodles

i realized i had no sauce to top it with

i melted a whole vat of butter on it to make it nice and buttery because of the lack of sauce

I probably cut my life by two years

Actually I have an extremely unhealthy but tasty as hell sauce recipe for when that happens:

You'll need the soft chicken bullion cubes, I usually use the Knorr brand.

Little bit of EV Olive Oil, a clove or two of garlic, 2 tablespoons of butter, and one bullion cube...basically put the butter and EVOO in the bottom of the pot while the noodles are hanging out in the collander or whatever, either use a garlic press or mince it really finely, toss that in. Give that a minute or so over low-medium heat, then mash in the bullion cube, will have to mash it around a bit to break it up fully. Let it go another minute or to, lay in the pasta, end of story.

Also if you have Pesto a small amount of that goes good.

I think at least one job that I interview for while looking I'm just going to say "Look, I'm a big deal on the internet, and I need at least 3 hours a day to keep up appearances. I'll do 8 hours worth of work in the other 5, but you need to relax the filters a bit and get off my shoulder."

I'd take the severance, unless they intend to continue allowing you to dick around at the new place.

If that commute time is anywhere near significant, that's earlier you have to wake up, later you get home; generally speaking, more time you waste on work. And that's unpaid time.

You can probably do better closer.

If you do that on an interview that is not going well you'll feel great for the rest of the day. Also, don't answer that stupid "what's your worst trait." That has to be one of the dumbest questions ever asked.

I actually have never been asked that, but I think I'll go with something along the lines of me being so awesome that they may need to readjust their overhead budget to invest in protective goggles, to shield other employees' eyes from my sheer fucking awesomeness.
