Thjats the thing I hate about cinemas, if you don't get the back seats at the top of teh isle in my local cinema then your cramped to F, and being 6'1" with long legs I get very cramped. Just booked tickets to teh enw batman film for wednesday, i book early so i can get the seats I can stretch my legs out.

For us its the front seats on the elevated area. There are 7 rows of floor seats and then they start up the incline. The first row has metal bars and you can put your feet up on them and stretch a bit. My husband is 6'2" and so is my son. When we go, if its a big release, we go up to the front and get the manager. We tell him my husband is handicapped (he is, one leg) and he escorts us in before anyone else can sit. Front row, elevated platform, with a foot rest please....thank you very much!

(here's an idea, people, DON'T TAKE YOUR FUCKING INFANTS TO THE THEATRE! You're just pissing the rest of us off no matter how you slice it)

I don't put up with this. The second a young child/baby starts crying in a theatre, I'm out the door and complaining to the management. I tell them either refund my ticket or get that kid to shut the hell up. Works every time, they go in and parent and child go out. I NEVER did this with my children and for a good reason......IT'S FUCKING RUDE. It happened at Dark Knight. A baby....a frickin baby!

At Batman last Friday, the manager addressed the audience beforehand and basically gave all the general rules of going to watch a movie in a theater. On one hand, No Shit, I've been going to the movies for as long as I can remember and am intelligent enough to not talk on the phone during a movie.
On the other hand, apparently people are even more stupid than I give them credit for. I've all but given up on going to the movies, I'll just buy it when it comes out on dvd or br. Putting up with inconsiderate assholes is becoming more than I can handle. Actually saw a movie earlier this year and some guy in front of me got a phone call and proceeded to talk on the phone for a little bit right in the middle of the theater. Teenagers texting throughout the course of a 2 hour movie and as was mentioned, parents who let their kid scream and cry without taking them out.
And yeah, I'm 6'5" and those chairs are just too damn close together. I nearly fell over when I tried standing up after this last movie.
I'd rather just buy the thing when it comes out 2 months later, lie on my couch, and drink a beer while I watch the movie. MUCH more enjoyable.

I'd rather just buy the thing when it comes out 2 months later, lie on my couch, and drink a beer while I watch the movie. MUCH more enjoyable.

and this is basically the reason I haven't seen a movie in a year or so.

Same here. Well, I did go to see my parents a couple months ago and they offered to babysit mine while the wife and I went to see Indiana Jones.

There's only a handful of people I'd trust with my kids and they're all too wrapped up in their own problems to sack an evening so that I can see a movie.

I've considered tranw darts but I'm afraid they'd devalue my investment in ninja smoke bombs. They're just redundant in so many situations, you know?

I don't think so in all, in fact they compliment each other. When child gets uppity in public, hit them with the tranq dart from the blow gun, then when people start accusing you of abuse and getting in your face, ninja smoke bomb + GTFO.

At this point I might just trust them on their own for three hours, but in about a month I'll have another infant and it'll be a moot point. What I really need to do is stop having babies. <_<;
