      You don't really have to do that anymore though, I get plenty of skill ups from using Blood Pacts. Of course, I haven't had a party yet where they required me to main heal, so that might change, though I'll still be doing AoE buffs and thus will still get skill that way.

          If your leveling SMN to get a taste for the job, and using "a subjob for WHM" as another reason to level it, then go right ahead. However, if "a subjob for WHM" is the only reason you're leveling it, I'd ditch SMN and get SCH instead.

            I plan to do both, actually. And I do kind of enjoy Summoner.

            So far the only job in the game I've really disliked is Ninja, and I think that's just because I don't have Ni yet.

              as a mnk i found parties to be the absolute most boring and irritating thing in the game. i would have rather been out killing some tougher monster or getting killed by said monster alone, than killing millions of easy critters with the merit parties. in parties i always found i had to hold back or i'd simply take the hate from the tank and keep it. which of course would piss off the healer and the tank, and sooner or later i would "accidentally die"... yeah right. where as if i went solo, duo, or even trio i could unleash my fury and let death rain down on the mobs. so in those cases i would be more interested in playing and paying attention. in a party if i was paying attention i would be sagged back in my chair bored, so why not clean the house instead? lol
