“I’M HOPING SOMEDAY THAT SOME KID, BLACK ORWHITE, WILL HIT MORE HOME RUNS THAN MYSELF. WHOEVER IT IS, I’D BEPULLING FOR HIMâ€

So as some of you may already know (maybe none), Mr. Barry Bonds broke the career home run record by a single player yesterday with his 756th* homer at his home field in San Francisco.
As a huge baseball fan that I am, I feel nothing about this. He's "The Man" now, but I feel no happiness for this guy and his milestone. It is what it is. I'm actually kind of glad this whole circus of him chasing the record is over and done with. He sits at 43 years old. Will he come back next year? I don't care.
Why don't I care about Mr. Bonds? Plain and simple, he's an ass. I'm not talking about the fact that he may have (or not) taken some sort of performance enhancers. He's just an ass. Here are some examples. In San Diego when he tied the record, he hugged his son who waited for him. Bonds even carried his son half way into the dugout. Maybe because Bond's felt 755 meant nothing really. He didn't break the record... he tied it. Now back home in San Francisco, he broke it... 756*. Again, his son waited for him at home plate. What does Bonds do? He points to the sky... for a long time. His son hugs his father. Bonds really doesn't acknowledge his son (in my opinion). After bringing his arms down, he claps twice, turns away from his son and walks to his teammates.
...
...
What was that? He didn't hug his own son? That just looked... odd to me.
Oh.. wait... his teammates? This is a guy who chooses to sit in the dugout while the rest of his teammates celebrate after a victory or whatever the case may be.
Like I said, it is what it is.
It was a good week for fellow MLB players.
Glavine got his 300th victory as a starting pitcher. Congrats to him.
A-Rod was the youngest player ever to reach 500 homeruns. Congrats to him.
Barry? Whatever. I just can't wait until A-Rod takes over the crown, which he will. He's one I'll be rooting for.
