What Are Your Thoughts About This?

Well, this topic doesn't sound like the topic I intended it to be, but I put this one because I didn't know if it was appropriate to name it what the real thing I'm about to talk about. Basically I didn't want it to attract any wrong ideas.

Ok well, I was thinking about a show that I used to always watch. It was an elimination kind of show. One of the girls got eliminated because the host found pictures of her naked on the internet posing in a sexual way which he called "Porn." She says it's nude modeling that she used to do in the past. Pretty much a lot of people thought her as "Pornstar." A few others including me were thinking is it really Porn if it only involves one person? Or should Porn be called Porn if it involves one or more people? Is nude modeling a category in Porn or no? What do you think Porn is? Hopefully this is appropriate to talk about.

Its a huge grey area. If its solo and they're fondling themselves, its porn. If they're with someone its porn. If they're alone and using a shower head, its porn. For me the gray area comes with "softcore" porn or nude photos. At times they can be classy, at other times they are not. Is it classified as porn depending on the intent the photos were created to produce? Personally, I feel that softcore is not porn. Nude photos are not porn. Granted, its inappropriate in situations, but is not what I personally feel is the definition of porn. Of course, even openly displayed sexual intercourse can be thrown into a limbo land with the sake of "art" in mind.

If she spread "lips" or "worse", then it would be porn. If it's just nude posing, it's not. I don't do porn everytime I take a shower.

Pai Pai took any potential fun out of this thread that could have been had, so I'm posting this:

Seriously though, its hard to have conversations about stuff like this because people in the US take sex too seriously. Seeing a boob is bad but getting to blow off someone's head and see thier brains hit the wall in a movie is totally cool. You're still in R rated territory for that, but go too crazy with the boobs and sex and they'll doom it an unmarketable rating.

So with that skewed standard already in place, nude is pretty much going to be porn.

agreed with BBQ, also porn is whatever you want to call it. There is food porn, and then there's sexual images that aren't porn.

It's all about perspective, presentation, and content.
