  • An interesting read.

I stumbled across this interesting little site earlier. It actually has some interesting ideas in it, I've been reading through it off and on, it's mostly stuff I would probably never consider, but it does have some neat concepts.

You got your url code mixed up a bit.

      Lame.

I don't have time to go through every single entry written by a guy with a chip on his shoulder. I'll just judge the book by its logo and assume it's trash.

        lawl.

        --------------------------

Pretty interesting. Lots of stuff to read. Interestingly, as I scrolled down the contents, my eye caught Free Dope (an interesting anti-drug article, ha), which lead to me finding the simplest explanation on how to make crack I've ever read. lol.

Looks like there's probably some interesting stuff that I may or may not read.

Yeah, I didn't see anything on that page that I'd call "interesting".

Of course the table of contents itself isn't interesting. You have to actually read a book to know what it is.

Usually when you ask somebody in college why they are there, they'll tell you it's to get an education. The truth of it is, they are there to get the degree so that they can get ahead in the rat race. Too many college radicals are two-timing punks. The only reason you should be in college is to destroy it. If there is stuff that you want to learn though, there is a way to get a college education absolutely free. Simply send away for the schedule of courses at the college of your choice. Make up the schedule you want and audit the classes. In smaller classes this might be a problem, but even then, if, the teacher is worth anything at all, he'll let you stay. In large classes, no one will ever object.
Being a man who's still earning an education this offended me the most. I want to be successful in life and provide well for a potential family. How does this make me a two-timing punk? Where do I go to steal life experience?

Oh, I read a bit. Still didn't see anything interesting. I did see someone who has an awful lot of ideas about how he thinks things should be, but I didn't find his ideas interesting.

Punctuation is your friend. It's just talking from a different perspective, so you need to use your head.

I think almost everyone can agree that if getting a degree didn't help you get a job, there would be almost no one in college. You yourself say it's because you "want to be successful", so you agree to this, if not from the same perspective.

Too many college radicals are two-timing punks. The only reason you should be in college is to destroy it.
College radicals, not college students. Those five words should make this part clear enough for you.

An alternative idea to getting a college education, in the same way that dumpster diving is an alternative to buying food. Maybe not the best alternative, but it's not supporting "the system" these people believe exists.

I don't really see what in there is actually offensive.

Its was a little interesting. In particular the recommendations for how to use a knife, guns and what types, home-made bombs, etc... I get the feeling that should the right people catch onto this, it might go the same way of the Anarchist Cookbook, despite that its not nearly of the same caliber.

Why do my goals end in 'the rat race'? Why do we call it the rat race because some people just can't cut it?

Why destroy our educational institutions? I think I missed that part.

You seem to be identifying more with the author. If that's so, none of this would be offensive to you.

It's one of those "I'm gonna go against the grain of society so that I can be cool" kind of things.

I stopped caring. Now, who wants to go watch MTV and shop at Billabong?

Like I said, it's perspective. Either way, your statements and theirs both say exactly the same thing, but in different ways.

Why destroy our educational institutions? I think I missed that part.
I don't know, you'd have to ask them. I assume because it's part of 'the system' or something. I didn't say these people were correct, just interesting.

You seem to be identifying more with the author. If that's so, none of this would be offensive to you.
No, not really. It just doesn't seem offensive at all. There's nothing in there saying "college students are bastards." or anything that actually attacks college students. The closest thing to an insult is saying that most of them are just there to get ahead in 'the rat race', and whether you call it a 'rat race' or say you're going it to 'provide for your family', you agree that most college students are going to college to get a degree so that they can make more money and get better jobs, so that they have an advantage over other people.

It's one of those "I'm gonna go against the grain of society so that I can be cool" kind of things.
I imagine most of them are, but it's kind of interesting. If you read it while ignoring all their propaganda, and their point of view in general, it's kinda like a guide to being a hobo.

                            Thank you Feba. I agree.

Aside from that, the writer is all sorts of awesome, because advocating ideas that could have come from the latest episode of Daria is always cool.

keep in mind, it's a Wiki, it's a group of people, not a single author.

Well, the stuff under "Original" is from a book from the 70s, but that's not what the majority of the site is.
