    Re: iPhone post

I'm quite happy with my $0 4 year old Samsung phone.

But awesome that you got one ^^ Did you have to wait in line long or was it a good location?

        Re: iPhone post

The iPhone is a nifty piece of hardware. I enjoy things with multiple convergence like that.

But I fscking hate Apple. ITune effed up my music library with it's proprietary organizational format. I can't play half my music on WMP, and the way ITunes works is too predominantly based on the playlist system.

I see the iPhone being ideal for Mac users, but even then, Mac users are extremely Niche users so sprung with their heads up their own asses, that if Steve Jobs left the bathroom one day with an epiphany and labled his newest paperweight entitled iShit, the Internet Bloggers would love every second of it's smelly fortitude.

That said.. I'm excited about the iPhone, but I'm turned off to it from all the Appletards being.. well.. Appletards. Gimme a SK4 with Video capabilities and I'll be happy. (I love the SKs stripped down OS. It's the best one on a phone, I feel.)(Verizon's proprietary OS just sucks. That's another reason I'm not a phone of the N V)

I don't have any problems with music and other media players (of course, I just use iTunes now because it's less hassle for me).

Personally I love Winamp as a music player, but iTunes killed my Winamp Library. I just use iTunes for the funktionality more than I do out of choice. But it turned all my MP3s into .m4a

Yay for the few of us that refuse to partake in cell phone purchase!

                And, ugh, Apple? {No Thanks.}

I'm planning to buy a mac book in the next couple of months. I thought about saving a bit of cash and buying a non-mac laptop, but I decided not to.

There's a possibility they'd upgrade the graphics system in the MacBook around the time Leopard ships. Just a little tidbit of information.

To be honest I think the iphone is like a updated ipod accept you can do email and dial and recieve calls. Also its kind of like the sidekick 4 just Apples version of it. Plus I heard alot of people couldn't even get it to work right yet lol..of course its new so then again...

Edit: I rather stick with my ipod I hate talking on big bulky things anyway!

Hmm. iPhone seems more like a mini-Macintosh than an iPod to me, kind of like Microsoft's Windows -> Windows CE/Pocket PC. As for talking on the somewhat large sized phones, you can always get a Bluetooth headset. (Which reminds: I need to get one of those hands-free thing--California just outlawed use of cell phones in cars without them. The fine is probably steep enough to buy an iPhone with it or something...)

What stops me cold is the price... For being locked into a two-year plan, I expect the phone to be $200 or lower , not $500 or higher.

Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
leaving no trace in the water.

I never got why that phone caught on so well. Then again, I'm using a 3 year old Samsung (not even a flip phone! or a slider! It's just... *gasp* A BRICK!) with a dying battery. I actually should've replaced it a couple months back under my contract, but apparently i'm either a procrastinating bastard (likely) or I like pain (also possible)

Murph, whatcha plan on buying a Macbook for? Ever used OSX before? You might want to consider getting an old iMac- most people have installed OSX on theirs, so you can get a feel for the interface before you make something your main computer. Although be aware that there's a good chance that old iMacs are possessed and will attempt to kill you in the middle of the night (mine has), but unplugging it fixes that.

One thing I will admit about apple is that their hardware is fucking sexy. If someone starts making androids within my lifetime, Apple's will definitely be the hottest. Then again, Sony does have Japan in their favor for making hot robot chicks.... but then, Apple girls would have style. Honda would be interesting, they'd probably be fairly average, in a cute way. Microsoft's would be just plain scary...

I'm probably going to hold off until February. It'll be a nice 30th birthday present to myself.

Feba - Basically, either a mac or a PC will do everything I need a computer for, so it's more a matter of personal taste than anything else. I'm semi-familiar with OSX, having used it at work, and when using friends macs.

I like my Razr because it's durable and fancy looking.

So basically you're agreeing with me that Macs are really sexy.

Style is a big reason for my desire for one, yes. Also, easier functionality between it and my iPod, I guess.
