  • Murphie's Law

-Anything that can be posted, will be posted.

-If nothing can be posted, something will.

-If there are multiple ways of posting something, the shorter, more inane choice will be the one.

-It's not over until the server crashes.

-Anything you say can and will be misquoted against you.

-A flame war will always happen at the worst possible moment.

-Any noob you try to correct will take longer and cost more than you thought.

    -All things posted are sarcasm.

-Never say "I'll never reply to that," because that's sarcasm, too.

    -No thread is fool-proof.

-Just when you think a thread has died, somebody necroposts on it.

-When waiting for a reply, it won't come until you've been disconnected.

-Just when you hit that "Submit Post" button, you will get an error, and will be forced to type all that all over again.

-That will only happen if you haven't copied the post before-hand.

-You are only not posting when your boss isn't at the office.

-In order to have an ownage post count, you have only to waste more time posting stuff than everybody else.

The Yellow Mage's Paradox: "If Murphie's Law can be posted, it will be posted."

Well, what do you think? I hope this tribute to a certain forum legend won't get me in trouble .

If you have something to add to it, or if you want to prove this law on my thread, have at it !

    Re: Murphie's Law

By definition, that's a list, not a law.

Murphie's law is probably "I am always on the internet, except when Feba wants to talk to me."

Meh, they're all "Murphie's Law" as far as I'm concerned.

Though I think the one at the top would apply the most.

. . . That would be the most reasonable response.

Honestly, I made this for humor, not to criticize Murphie in any way. In short, I wanted more ' ' than ' ' .

                          Re: Murphie's Law

Given that its done in jest, I don't have any problems with it. Just be careful, given that "no thread is flame-proof", this could get ugly quickly.

My favorite, though, is "Everytime a post count is mentioned I die a little inside."

Well, it's in Off Topic (thus, no post count raising), and I don't mind it, so I doubt it will get ugly.

That said, there should be a rule that says "When in doubt, tell someone to DIAF."

Whenever Murphie is online, he never turns on AIM.

                              That is a definitive law
