Anyone Play/Lost MTG?

Hello All,

I am/was an avid MTG player. I haven't played since I started FFXI over a month ago! I was going to FNM 2/month and playing casual almost daily. It's gone, all gone! Anyone still make time for both? Anyone else lost their love of MAGIC or anything else?! Name it. (Don't need to have lost MTG to post.) Thanks,

Everything and Nothing. Nothing matters anymore because of FFXI, and should be forgotten. I was just wondering if anyone else feels the same way...

I started playing Magic back in the Ice Age block. The urge comes and goes. Me and my friends seem to be on a cycle of about 3 blocks on, 3 blocks off. I haven't played since Onslaught block, but this new set, Time Spiral, has a lot of nostalgic old reprints like Sengirs and stuff, not to mention a legend card for my namesake, Jaya Ballard. I actually bought a booster box of Time Spiral and me and some friends are going to do a draft tomorrow for some old time's sake. I think we're all really hoping we don't get back into it. I love magic as a game, but honestly I don't know how I ever managed to play a CCG and still have money to feed myself. Mad cash for those boosters. Paying for an MMO now just makes it worse.

I feel for you man. I was fortunate enough to quit between Urza Block and Kamigawa Block and was on since then. I see myself going off for another 3 blocks now that I've started FFXI. DAMN! Just when I got my play set of RAV DUALS....

I only played very very casually. I didn't know anyone else who did, so the only time I was able to play was when I could convince someone to give it a try.

Consider yourself lucky. MTG is nearly All-Consuming as FFXI. Trust me. I think I'm going to loose my fionce on this damn game...

A FFXI addiction is much physicallly safer than a fast car addiction. Congrats!

I had some control over my MTG addiction and she was only moderately annoyed with it. For FFXI, she is VERY mad. She goes to bed at 10:30 for God sakes. That's no even a reasonable time for me to stop playing...

Again, you have priority issues if you feel that FFXI + MTG is better then your fiance

I really thought other addicts would be on my side on this.... But, you are right I suppose. Where do I draw the line though? Do I let HER decide when it's okay for me to play?! I don't know about that...
