I'm just frustrated by this recurring conversation. >< Somebody inevitably turns it into a competition and everyone else is just trying to get a leg up on you in this imaginary e-peen race for the biggest post count or the most valuable forum member or something. We're all just here to discuss the things we like. So long as you don't break the forum rules, you're posting the "right" way.

I would love it if post counts were removed altogether. Then we could all contribute as we pleased (within the rules) without people making judgments based on the frequency of it.

Hahaha, failed to be noticed by me. But then again, I never pay it much mind. I judge people on the quality of their posts, not the quantity. Having listed post counts on large forums is always a bad idea, imo. Because someone always likes to bring it up, or bash the ones who have higher ones.

I keep them on one of mine because it has all of 6 active members, all close friends, and I'm just too lazy to go in and turn it off because none of us care.

My friend is not allowed to ride his bike anymore, now that his wife recently gave birth to a boy. He doesn't want to sell his bike, so guess what?



This is standing in my garage, a Harley-Davidson FLHR Road King "Screaming Eagle." It's in perfect condition, I've been driving for at least 4 hours today.
And it really drives awesome!
I know what vehicle i'm using for my next vacation, hehe.
It's from 1996, has about 18,000 miles to it's name.
This is "my thing".

Not really my color, but sexy nonetheless. I'd have fun riding cross-country on that.

What's really unnecessary is people thinking they get to judge what opinions are and are not good enough to express, and how much others are allowed to speak.

Thank you. Personally, I like post counts, they're interesting statistics. Especially when someone comes back from two years ago, you can see how much they used to come around, not to mention they make other interesting statistics, like comparing to a person's thank count can give somewhat of an idea on how helpful their posts are in general. Personally, I think anyone who condemns someone else's posts as 'spam' (as taskmage mentioned above), should be slapped with a spam warning themselves- unless it's a good natured joke. Actual spam should be treated with a report and ignoring the thread, not bumping it.

And Sweetkitty, obviously if the off topic forum doesn't increase your post count, all this "spam" you keep talking about DOESN'T MATTER ANYWAY. Murphie posts alot, because he likes it here, not because he's so pathetic that he thinks some number makes him more powerful than other people. If that were the case, he would've left when PiNG removed the Gil system.

Also, no one here has anything against new members. We welcome newbs every day, or at least every week. It's being rude to existing posters or trying to change the place on your third day that's upsetting people. Arctic has made plenty of posts that I have no problem with, and do you see me arguing with him? Look at this thread itself, up until he started insulting people, in this case Murphie, I was treating him like any other member of the forum. As soon as he oversteps that line, I will react.

Nobody here has a problem with people not liking other forum members. It's going to happen, you can't help it. BBQ doesn't seem too fond of Murphie, and I personally don't care very much for SevIfrit, but you don't see BBQ attacking Murph whenever he posts, and you don't see me constantly calling SevIfrit an idiot. Now, the fact that we dislike each other might be obvious, but we don't disrupt threads over it.

Please do not make the post count an issue. Please do not harass another user about their post count. Please do not harass another user about their posting habits because they are spamming against the rules. Two wrongs will lead to two infractions.
