Oh that was such an awful show... Saddening how American animators can turn such an incredible video game into such a horrible cartoon. /shakes his head

Edit: Now that I think about it, the show was good for one thing: Cheap and easy laughs. It was fun to laugh at how stupid the cartoon was, and how hard they seemed to be trying to make it good. Lawl.

      Re: My alma mater...

I do know for a fact that asians can be messed up, but there just aren't stories of asians going around shooting up schools.
We used to be able to get the Japanese news where I live, I have heard of a few cases where I would say an asian went crazy, just not with guns.

Some things I'd be interested in knowing, did those girls live at the dorm he shot up? And did they commonly take classes/currently enrolled in classes in the other building he shot up?

Yeah, they may not have been shot at, but if they frequented those buildings I'd say there was a good chance he was after them.

I'm glad you're ok Mog, I kinda know how you feel, there was a shooting up here at the University of Washington about a week and a half ago. Sadly my conclusions on these events is that restraining orders to nothing but give police the name of their first suspect. And I'm sorry, but if the teacher has him removed from her class in fear of her life, multiple students report him as very disturbed, you'd think there would be something more being done rather than the school offering consouling. Now maybe there was and I just haven't heard about it, but that's just my opinion.

This entire thing with people going on a shooting spree really disturbs me. It wasn't that long ago that that Amish schoolhouse was shot up, or that mall shooting spree in Utah. I don't understand why someone would go out and kill other people before killing themselves, or being gunned down by police, but it is damn obivious why they pick their targets, they are the places where it is very unlikely that there will be someone else armed with a handgun.

I know alot of people will disagree with this, but I really do think that if even 1/10 people carried a concealed handgun we would not be seeing this. Worst case scenario would be that the gunner only kills 2-3 people before getting shot down himself.

Just look at that mall shooting in Utah, the bastard was free to walk around unhampered killing people left and right until police could get there to shoot him, I cannot believe that.

Now ask yourself, is this guy probably going to go start shooting in a mall when he knows there is a good chance that 5 of the 50 people, in his immediate vicinity, will probably start shooting back at him? And that he doesn't even know who these people are so he can't target them first? For the truely deranged, probably not. For the people who are unhappy with their life and want to go out in a blaze of glory like Bonnie and Clyde, and I do think that this is the reason for some of these shootings, then they probably won't.

I am a very firm believer in the saying, "If you want peace, you must prepare for war"

You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you.

I just saw the interview. They say he just didnt talk to them ever and was always keeping to himself.

You guys above are right. Comedy can help, please excuse my seriousness.

But seriously, I hope nothing happens like this in any country ever again. So sad that it does everyday, but I wont talk polotics on a game forum beyond this.

We live in a new world than the way it was 20 years ago. I feel like this type of thing is going to happen much more frequently now. I really hope im wrong.

Eh, shit is always going to happen. Might as well try to enjoy the bad with the good.

Really though, if you think about it, comedy is just varying levels of bad things and oddities. Good things just aren't funny.

I believe Mhurron was just pointing out some delicious irony. I don't think he was being serious about it.

That and humorizing something typically helps to lessen it's significance. Some people can't grip or comprehend tragic events like what happened at VT. Joking about it or finding humor in it works to help try to rationalize it or lessen its negative impact.

Thank you for the concern all. I appreciate it.

As far as I know, none of my friends, aquaitances, or profs were injured or killed. It's been a couple of days and I still can't concentrate on anything, just trying to get my mind off it by playing Final Fantasy.

I just don't know how the rest of the semester is going to go for me and my classmates. I don't know how anyone can think straight after this happened.

I havent touched this yet, but im glad to know you are ok mog. We had an attempted school shooting at my high school, and another attempt this year at my step-sister's high school. I know how much that messed with me and her, I hope you pull thru and do well for the rest of the year mog.

Humor can help people get through emotionally difficult situations.

However, I fail to see the "healing power" in making jokes which disrespect some of the victims and mourners. As a human being (and I happen to be a woman), I'm dismayed to see this. If you're going to make disparaging comments about a particular group, make sure you can count yourself in it.
