People make fun of me for using complete, standard English words and capitalized letters at the beginning of sentences. I can't help it; I read books and newspaper, that's how English is written in books and newspaper.
Over time, I've gotten a reasonable handle on some of the more useful acronyms, like BTW, IIRC, BRB, AFAIK, etc. But, my brain seems to have some built-in anti-text-message-speak mechanism.
So far, managed to figure out "ne" and "ne1" (rather proud of that--did it on my own) and a few others, but most of the rest don't even stick in my brain long enough for me to remember what they look like, much less what they mean.
So, what is the minimal, Internet-survival vocabulary these days? What do I need to know to read all the posts here? I don't think I can ever get used to writing sans punctuations, but short of that which "words" do I need?
