  • Final Fantasy and Black Mages Music Videos

On one of my many trawls through youtube, I cme accross a couple of Final Fantasy concerts and Black Mages concerts. I have been hoping someone would post these to Youtube as here in jolly old england we wouldn;t even get a sniff of a visit for a Final Fantasy style concert.

So I have done a bit of legwork and below are links to some FF concerts you can view on Youtube, I have spent the lst 2 hours watching them and enjoying it.

The Black Mages concert at Shibuya AX, Tokyo (2003.04.24-27). This is their first concert to promote the release of their first album. They performed a total of 11 songs from various Final Fantasy games.

    Part 1 - Introduction
    Part 2 - J-E-N-O-V-A (FFVII)
Part 3 - Force Your Way (FFVIII)
Part 4 - Battle Theme (FFVI)
    Part 5 - Battle Theme 1 (FF1)
Part 6 - Battle Theme II (FFII)
    Part 7 - Matoya's Cave (FF1) (Note:- a bit quiet)
Part 8 - Those Who Fight Further (FFVII)
Part 9 - The Decisive Battle (FFVI)
Part 10 - Clash on the Big Bridge (FFV)
Part 11 - Dancing Mad (FFVI) a bit slow, but has a great solo by Nobuo Uematsu on his organ and a great guitar solo.
Part 12 - Fight with Seymour (FFX)

All in all a great concert though the levels needed sorting out as some keyboard solos were drowned out abit.

    Next concert in next post....

Re: Final Fantasy and Black Mages Music Videos

I have 2 full concerts and all 'The Black Mages' concerts in DVD and CD... They are amazing absolute classics.

Blue Blast - Winning the Rainbow is a Black Mage orginal and is probarly the best song from "The Skies Above" concert except for "The Skies Above (Feat Mr Goo)

In my opinon Kazco was a bad choice for singing Otherworld she doesn't sing it anywhere near the orginal and IMO ruins though it is still well preformed as a heavy metal rocker who loved the orginal I think she was a bad choice though those who didn't like the orginal may like her version

The Black Mages are a Japanese instrumental rock band formed by Nobuo Uematsu, composer for various video games in the Final Fantasy series. The band arranges Uematsu's musical compositions in a rock style often similar to progressive metal, achieved with the additional use of synthesizers.

I'm sorry. I saw them in 2005 when the More Friends concert came around. It wasn't a full Black Mages, they would just play a couple songs through the orechestral part. I loved how they ended with One Winged Angel with both the Orchestra and the Black Mages combined. :D

Usually when someone says they saw someone or a band live, they mean in klive performance on stage playing music. :-\

ah yes I liked that part of the concert.

Shame I highly doubt they would tour Europe in the near furture. C'mon Nobuo Uematsu come visit Europe!
