  • Going again.

Ok, this time, starting sometime on Thursday I'll be shutting down my network and throwing everything except my laptop into storage for a long time as I'm going to be moving and getting married and what not.

Unfortunately that means no FFXI for an equally long time. Which sucks but oh well.

I have a MacBook, so I've picked up WoW to at least try for the free month. Now if I can actually connect to their account creation service (503 service unavailable WEE!) is there anyone here that plays that as well so I won't go into WoW not knowing what the hell is going on?
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

HTTP Error 418 - I'm A Teapot - The resulting entity body MAY be short and stout.

Hopefully with the fun your marriage is going to usher in (for a year or so), ffxi will not even be on your mind... unless you have your spouse role play as a mithra. ^_~

Have fun, and enjoy her. Less attention on games.

      First thing I'll do when I hook up with a new girl, is to make sure she plays the game I play o_O;

      Good luck with your marriage!

Best Wishes on your wedding. I used to play WoW, but don't any longer. Still have my account though, which I boot up from time to time. It's a pretty easy game to pick up.

If you join Spirestone, Alliance, I know some people that can hook you up.

            Re: Going again.

Congrats on your wedding! I'm tying the knot myself in March.

As for WoW, it's an MMO... However, there are a few things I would suggest to make your life easier:

            1) Start studying First Aid as early as possible. You will get tons of cloth from humanoid mobs (and a few others), which you can either sell or make into bandages (or tailor if you so desire). If you are a melee class that depends on HP, however, use at least some of the cloth you're getting to level your First Aid.

            2) Consider planning ahead for your talents and class ability purchases. You will probably only focus on 1.5 talent trees, i.e. ~25-32 points in one talent tree and ~18-25 points in another talent tree. You can probably get away with not buying certain abilities early on, which will free up money for other things.

            3) Mounts used to be expensive, so it would require massive saving efforts to buy them. This is no longer the case, so don't worry too much about saving for a mount.

            4) Sell everything green and above at AH if possible (unless you enchant).

            5) Don't be too obsessive about keeping your equipment up to date before 60. You'll see a lot of lvl 60s running around with lvl 48 gear. At about 54, you'll start getting your class gear, which is mostly dropped in instances.

            6) Check how much white items are selling for on AH, as you may get a good drop that would sell for a decent amount even at lower levels.

            7) For Horde, go to the Crossroads at about level 10, no matter where your starting city was. It's a very good place to level, maybe the Valkurm of WoW. For the Alliance, I think you can go to Westfall. I haven't played Alliance in a while.

You can probably find a lot more useful information out there in WoW-specific forums. These are all things I wish I had done with my character looking back.

I have to hang around here, it will be my only FFXI fix for a while.

I wonder if I can bring my PS2 with me, I could at least pick up FFXII then.

                    Do it. Great game.
Have fun with WoW too, have a cpl friends who really like it, so I suppose it can't be completely the devil incarnate.
