Being a mod is hard work, I am one on a fire forum. But the shear pleasure of booting out spammers, trouble causers etc is just so damn satisfying, plus the numerous posts I have had to edit and not forgetting the ball breaking of new recruits!!
Being a moderator has its moments. It IS a lot of work, though. Most of the satisfaction comes from actually being able to do something about people who ignore the rules and disrupt the forum.
If were talking about just kicking the newbies into line, you don't need to be a moderator to do that.
P.S. The other moderators work just as hard as I do on the forums. I'm just a bit more visible since most of the rest of the moderation team prefers to reprimand wrong-doers privately.
