A few interesting tidbits about the goings on in your world today.

Here's something you all may not have heard about but i'll be happy t fill in since i love reading about current events.

1. Brittain has decided to go thru the 200+ Tom and Jerry episodes one by one and remove any areas that show smoking as being "cool" But they will be leaving the violence in. This move comes after only 1 mother made a protest, apparently this one person was enough to make them jump immediately into action and in the future they will be doing the same thing to other classic cartoons such as Scooby Doo and others.

2. Madonna was denied a seat on the russian space shuttle in 2008 due to no room, she may go up in 2009 tho. The first civilian to go up into space was an Iranian-american woman who ponied up 20 million dollars to hitch a ride for 10 days.

3. Pluto is no longer a planet, it has been given a number and is now to be recognized as a dwarf planet. I can't remember the number.

4. Steve Irwin the "croc hunter" died from a Sting ray barb impaling him in the chest while filming a documentary at a reef, Irwin was reported to have pulled the barb out of his chest before dying.

Basically FMU, "planets" with the same configuration as Pluto are no longer "planets", they are now "plutons", adding a new category of space bodies.

Sounds like a pretty good thread if people decide to add their own "news", so i was thinking about removing the offtopic~ish replies... gonna leave this here for a bit.

been on teh cards for a few years now, part of teh anti smokign campaign being run, tobacco advertising was banned in any sports over the last 3-5 years now, no tobacco advertising is allowed in public places and more stringent fines and possible prosecutions to anyone selling fags to underage. The cartoons ahs been argued for the last 10 years and it has now become reality.

Eris is the official new name for 2003UB313 discovered by Mike Brown. Eris was the Greek goddess of discord and strife.

Eris' moon is will be called Dysnomia, the daughter of Eris, a spirit of lawlessness.

If you're talking about the new extra-solar planet the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics found, it's been dubbed HAT-P-1.

Last time I checked that 50 year old still had a pretty nice body, better than a lot of women half as old as she is. She is alittle off color no less though.
