God, you dont need to mourn, you dont need to make a fuss, you dont need to make a thread for it.

Dont laugh at someone dieing though, its simply not funny, is that hard to understand?

And murphie, youre smarter than that. Who cares if it was a celebrity? That wasnt my point. With what youre saying, is a celebrity not a normal person? do you laugh because he was a celebrity? I thought we had nicer people around here. Its not a matter of "internet seriousness". If you make a thread saying a person you know died swimming with sharks, i sure as hell aint gonna "lol" at it and make stupid remarks.

The point is: dont laugh at the 2 kids that lost their father, is it hard to comprehend how much wrongness is in there?

I'm just so hugely disappointed at some of you, im not even gonna keep posting here, i've made my point and i dont like arguments.

Re: Crikey! The Croc. Hunter is dead!

A celebrity is a normal person. But everyone handles the death of someone that they never met and never will meet differently. There isn't any reason to get all up in arms about it because someone else has a darker sense of humor than you do.

No one is laughing at his kids who now don't have a father. Who did that? Yeah, that's sad. Yeah, people die. All the time. I've been to more funerals than I can recall. And it's sad every single time. But this is a message board on the interenet. Getting worked up about what people say about a dead celebrity is a pointless exercise.

That's what I'm saying. Please don't misinterpret me.

I feel like it should be funny, but like the obvious pun you see coming from a mile away it's just hard to laugh at. I mean, the guy made a living of getting dangerously close to the most dangerous animals on the planet. I don't think anyone is the slightest bit surprised that the man died from an attack by a dangerous animal. Many of us probably called it years ago.

Jim Fixx dying of jogging after spending his life promoting jogging for health is funny because nobody could've expected that to kill him. Steve Irwin dying from daring death one more time than any man should rightfully get away with is as funny as a fresh clump in a litter box. You knew what you'd eventually find there when you got the litter box.

I completely agree, Task. But if someone else finds it funny I don't think they should be hit by a truck.

This news has seemed to explode over the net. Steve Irwin, the crazy Crocodile Hunter, has died in a freak accident with a stingray.

It is kinda sad. I always joked that one of these days, he was going to piss an animal off while messing with it, and get killed... and I guess it happened.
It's sad to see him go. He had so much enthusiasm he could get people excited just through his energy levels. I've never had someone able to make nature documentaries so much fun to watch. (From the amount of education kids recieved while being entertained by his antics alone is a great loss)
Also from watching his show your could see however much he goofed arround he was actually much more careful with the crockadiles than his banter would sugest. The job he did was still dangerious and eventually luck does run out no matter how good a person may be at their work.
I always figured he would probably have to quit doing shows at some point after losing a limb to or getting killed by a crocadile, but I never would have suspected a stingray of being able to bring the man down. Or that a stingray was physically cappable of inflicting grevious harm to a human for that matter.
He had a good life and he will be missed.

Re: Crikey! The Croc. Hunter is dead!

Oddest part is that he died from what is by and large a non-aggressive animal. I really figured if it was going to come, that it would be from one of the snakes on his 10 deadliest snakes in the world special, or a komodo dragon or something. Never really thought it would be something thats not really considered a threat.

I heard the barb punctured his heart, which would have been a very lucky shot for the stingray. I think that piece of information is still internet rumor at this point, so take it for what you will. True or not it's a grim reminder of just how fragile a human life really is.

It's posted on CNN's main page the direct link is

Also an Austrailian news site is linked on the 1st page by the op if you want to see the full story. Your right btw it was a puncture through the heart making Steve Erwin the 3rd person to ever die from a Stingray attack according to the site.

                        Fine, im posting again >.>...

You should get hit by a truck (is this the subject now?) if you laugh at someone's death and their family who lost a dear person to them, because thats what you deserve for being a heartless bastard, much like what someone deserves when they risk their life and die in an accident, because they are stupid.

Actually, if the trucker who ran you over dies, thats what he deserves aswell, driving is dangerous and he should know that.

Actually, dont breathe, theres bacteria in the air, who knows what may happen... and if you die from it, you should know better not to breathe bacteria into your lungs, hah!

                        Let the quotation begin.

Its a shame Sparrows aren't dangerous. Damn Bill Oddie is annoying

Seriously though, its ironic that Steve Irwin died from a non-aggressive creature after spending most of his life chasing and grabbing crocs, snakes etc. Yes some may find it funny but I'd say it was more in the "heh" sense rather than

Suppose it kind of like that *cough* great *cough* mathematician who died a few years ago. He was tipped for the Nobel prize, touted as the new Einstein then went and did a 100ft Bungee jump with a 150ft cord.

Steve Irwin I guess died doing what he did best - getting up close and personal to dangerous animals, making them a bit more accessable to us mere mortals. A good environmentalist died today.

Damn ; ; I loved that show, I even cried once when one of his oldest and most beloved crocodiles died in the zoo. Why must all good days be ruined T_T

And could everyone please stop fighting and have some respect for the dead? Steve Irwin was a great man with a wife and two kids. The fact that he was a celebrity should have nothing to do with it. This is a time that we should honor and remember what he did for the natural community, and more importantly his family. If you have a bone to pick with someone's opinion take it to PMs, there's no need to spam this thread up with it.

Re: Crikey! The Croc. Hunter is dead!

It's been all over the Internet and all over the news, hasn't it? I know that everyone in the world must have heard about it by now.
I have Yahoo as my home page, so I turned on my comp this morning to be faced by this. Click Here
I couldn't believe what I was reading, right before my very eyes!! I have watched a lot of his programmes and have always had a huge soft spot for animals and wildlife myself! I've always felt inspired by what he'd created, and now, the news of his loss has left me feeling quite numb. /sigh.
He was a great person, very caring and loved to educate people with his knowledge of wild animals.
I feel alot of respect to the guy, and now that he is gone, he will be sorely missed.
I saw a clip on the news where people were laying down bouquets of flowers outside Australia Zoo where Steve presented quite a few of his programmes.
If I lived in Australia, then I would have liked to go along and lay some nice flowers ln memory of him too, but since I don't live there it wouldn't be possible.
Ahh well.... I'm sure his familay know that there a lot of people thinking of him anyway.
R.I.P Mr Irwin. May you live on, up there in Heaven. God rest your soul! *sheds a little tear at his loss*
P.S. - I was nearly going to start off this thread myself, but I wasn't sure if it was the right thing to do, since this is a gaming forum centred around FFXl.
I'm a little surprised to say that someone else has already beaten me to it.
