Until the excellent NHK ni Youkoso that started few months ago, Gonzo hasn't really made anything worth watching. Also, while the animation is probably quite good, it sounds like they're trying to brown nose American audiences by making it a brainless and gory action package with no substance.

Watched the trailer... doesn't really look as good as Samurai Champloo. Then again, it's only a trailer.

I read a Newtype interview with the lead developer during Samurai Champloo airing. The question posed was that now they're going international (meaning their audience are now more diversed and not just limited to Japan) would the studio be selling out? The developer responded by saying that Westerners feel novelty in "weird" and if started to make any sense, that in itself would be a "sell out."

I don't know, either way, if having an African American character as a samurai is not a sell out, I don't know what is. We already have one in a pint-size package of McGruder's creation. Do we need yet another?

The trailer looked really dumb to me. The voice didn't match, the character didn't look cool.... I hope it either improves or gets erased from existance.

If you look at it. A black samurai is weird. Actually beyond weird. I'm not a samurai, I have never met a real black samurai(those people semi-cosplaying at otakon dont' count).
