    Alternatively...

You could just suck less. I've been playing my Thf vs the crabs in Gustav in an unusual JP party and yeah - my DoT is there with the Nin and the Monk.

You must be doing something seriously wrong to not want to party on crabs.

Unless you're suffering the ZOMG damge syndrome, in which case, go seek help.

Do you take requests? I haven't seen a good "price gougers" vs. "undercutters" rant for a while.

Not that you'll come up with a good one, but maybe it'll prompt someone better at this to chime in.

There is no rush. If you're not willing to take your time, don't be surprised when no one wants to give you much of theirs.

Re: Crabs. Don't invite me if you're going to fight them

Small Question: Since when did DiV become a Rant/Flame forum?

Crabs can generally be a pain to any damage dealing class. But the overall lack of offence creates a more or less safe mob to expirence on. Added with the fact that it can be aspired for MP, it makes it very Mage friendly, alowing better ease for ongoing exp chains. But they are a murder to STR type weapon skills and attacks, with Bubble Shower, and all their defensive traits, unless you have a dedicated dispeller, it can become a real hassle taking them down.

However, if you are having difficulty dealing straighfoward damage to a Crab, there are alternatives.

For Example, instead of focusing on a STR build and attack settup, you can focus more on the magical aspects of Blue Mage. INT and HP builds are lovley for attack magic and Breath attacks.

If you still waht Physical Sickel Slash has a nice modifyer on Dexterity you can use. There are spells tha use AGI, (Jet Stream) VIT and other modifiers.

Better yet, stacking DoT effects like with Cold Wave's high DoT frost, and one of our many poisoning skills, can help make up for some of the damage your lacking in physical attack.

Additionaly it is rumored that Frightful Roar's Defence Down effect overrites the defence up effect Crabs use. I know as much that acid bolts do. So their buffs are more or less easy to work around. And dont forget your Wild Oats~! ^^

If you have problem dealing damage one way as a Blue Mage, you may want to conister changing your approach, not changing your monster.

I think he just needs to create a Livejournal account and vent his spleen there rather than subjecting us all to his trip through puberty here.

Crabs are always a pain in the ass. Even for Black Mages. I was in Boyahda doing Robber Crabs (mob level 62-66) the other day, and I was getting more resists than I like. Exp started to suck, so we decided to move to Valley of Sorrows and kill Velociraptors (mob level 66-69). Resists were no longer a problem.

I don't understand the community's crab fetish. Yeah, they are easy to kill. Yeah, they don't have devastating TP moves. But their defense is insane. With everyone's "gotta get as much exp as I can, as fast as I can" attitude, you'd think that the slow-to-kill crabs would not be wanted.

Remember leveling in the Quicksand Caves on Antican? Which Ant was the biggest pain in the butt? Antican Princeps, the Paladin one. I remember lines like "/sigh, all that's around is the Antican Princeps" and "Antican Princeps incoming... prepare for a long fight."

Simple... ask if the PT will fight crabs... if so, decline the invite! No need to act emo about it.

Get a RDM or BRD.. or both. I've read a few of your posts, and they come off being very hostile and belligerent. You can make a point and express an opinion without giant capital red letters (people might also be more respectful and amicable toward you).

As fun as this looks, I think I'm going to have to lock a page and a half of razzing the OP.
