I really enjoy the community here. I talk this place up to my LS all the time, but it's like talking to rocks most of the time. And I have yet to convince a single LS member to even check out the site, so...oh well.

The alla community was too large and too chaotic for anyone to get to know anyone else. And that's part of what (I think) makes this place so neat. Just the fact that when someone posts, you actually know who they are (sorta). That did happen at alla from time to time, but a lot less often.

This forums community was one of the deciding factors on me even purchasing or trying the game.

I figured if a large forum community like this gets along as well as it appears on this forum, than the community in game couldn't be too far off.

So far I've not be disappointed, even the one arguement/discussion i've seen on this forum, was rather tame and never really got to a personal type of flame war, i'm ohh so used to from being a moderator/staff at vaultnetwork. :D

Just wanted to show everybody some sweet, sweet loving.

I'm busy at work right now, sneaking in here as usual. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate everybody here. My young cousin is joining the game in the coming week, and as I try to teach him about the myriad topics and general play tips, I realize how nice it is to have everyone here working together. I don't have all the answers, but I bet I could ask and sure as hell get an answer. I've never seen anything like this before.

I was a member over at "the site that starts with A" and it was mostly just a pack of people wasting time. But here, there are actual discussions taking place about anything you could think of. It just makes the game so much better to feel that we are all on the same team. And I haven't played since May (just a break), but I still feel like a functioning member of a greater thing.

I agree with everyone here, when i first started a few months ago a friend told me about alla. I checked it out and used it quite a bit but, then i found this site witch has helped me out a freakin ton. And i have met some very cool people here.

Yeh thats what I like about this place. when you post you know who is most likely to anser and you at least know something about how they think.

I've been here for quite a while. I think I heard about the site from a LS member during the NA Beta, and I've been here ever since. I was out of the game for almost a year, due to the Real World kicking my butt, but the whole time I was roaming the forums on a daily basis. I've come to really trust a lot of the people here, and I find that I value the opinions of the community even if I find myself disagreeing with them.

I will admit to being worried when the mass exodus from Alla came about, but I'm happy to say the transition was pretty smooth. I agree that the community we've built here wouldn't interest the people that would cause problems for us, and a kudos to the Admin staff as well. I have proudly called this my home for long time now, and have recommended a number of people to come join us here.

I FFXIOnline too, I it long time!

I never bothered posting at AllaK or KI myself, though gamefaqs is good for a laugh now and then. But this place is the best general FFXI community I know of, that's for certain.

Now, I don't agree with your stance on gilsellers, but I do agree with you on this.

I have to admit, I do lurk on KI occasionally. Usually just to glean a bit of knowledge from the active RNG forums (amidst the name calling and general flaming), and occasionally for a laugh at the Fairy forums and to lose a little respect from some ingame people. There are actually a few prominent people on Fairy I absolutely can't stand. I've never even talked to them ingame, just their attitudes on KI make me want to stab them. Most pompous pricks I've ever heard.

EDIT: And I forget to actually post what I meant to say from the beginning.
This has always, and will always be my home. Actually got the link from an FAQ on Gamefaqs before I started playing. I consider everyone here something of an extended family.

Yeah, really hard to remember anyone at alla unless they did something big, or they had 2000-3000+ posts.


One of the things here that really helps is avatars. Avatars are SO USEFUL for helping to identify people, as long as you don't have people constantly swapping theirs, or someone using someone elses.

I've actually been thinking about changing mine as well. But like Feba said, it may take awhile for people to recognize a new one. I myself have been thrown off when multiple people have the same avatar.
I don't know though, I really like the Buster Bluth avatar, though it seems few people have any clue where it came from.

Personally I have yet to find one for myself that I'd want to keep forever.
