Re: Just amazing.. our world is so corrupt..Aids in Medicine..
Let me "inject" a few quotations and some words of my own. This is regarding the general tone of the thread and not the specific actions of the Bayer corporation btw.
"Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun." - Mao Tse-Tung
Just because he's generally regarded as a "bad guy" doesn't mean that he can't be correct. The idea here is to get people enraged, angry, and scared of violence so much so that they ask they're governors to make laws preventing citizens from posessing arms with which to defend themselves. Therefore, the government may do as it wishes with it's unarmed citizens. Since they cannot defend themselves, as long as military personnel remain controlled, small rebellions can be easily stamped out.
With regard to military personnel: It is easier to control military personnel in the US than it is to control citizens. This is by design to prevent military from siding with citizen or national groups. The military tribunal is arranged in such a way as to create an atmosphere of secrecy and treason. Military tribunals are a controlled environment, so that they can be much more easily arranged as Kangaroo Courts. [Life in Prison]? [No, thank you.] Media exposure of military personnel can also be censored or directed and propaganda can be implanted during their training when they are forced to go without sleep for long periods of time. Sleep deprivation creates a waking-dream state that has been shown to allow for the easy acquiescence of the human mind, see an initial foray into this phenomenon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brainwashing.
With regard to the specific video of the 9/11 plane crash:
Let us think of the usefulness of "conspiracy" as a device of deception while we examine the details of the event.
We will assume that the video is true and correct in its presentation of information, and that, in fact, no airplane crashed into the pentagon, but it was, rather, some type of unidentified ballistic ordnance.
Possibility 1: The ordnance was launched by a para-military group as an attack.
Possibility 2: The ordnance was launched by a non-US military group.
Possibility 3: The ordnance was launched by a US military group.
The most interesting of the 3 possibilities is #3 because it has the most "conspiracy value". Why would someone want people to think that the US shot missiles at it's own building?
Possibility 1 is the "plausible" one, not because it is in-and-of-itself necessarily plausible, but that it is "useful" for people to "believe" in it b/c it engenders hatred of ethnic group A b/c they sponsored the para-military group, thus allowing military action against ethnic group A to achieve a strategic goal.
Possibility 2 is also interesting...
Why would it be useful to direct "conspiracy thinkers" to contemplate this issue rather than focus on something more tangible?
Remember most major actions of the government are carefully planned and conceived by large groups of high-minded individuals who operate as consultants--see Rand Corporation et al:
http://www.lib.umich.edu/govdocs/psthink.html
The idea of directing people's faith whatever it may be is very old. We can look at various religious cults which often-times pray upon relatively intelligent individuals during the formation of their adult independance (in college):

How could a government, corporation, or other group use a secularized or non-secularized version of this effect to their advantage?
With regards to the practices of corporations (esp. Pharmaceuticals):
A person becomes a doctor because they wish to cure the sick. They are our White Mages. They have a deep inner desire to make sure that people don't die and that they live healthy lives.
A corporation has no soul as an entity of intellectual curiosity only. This does not mean that a person in the company cannot care about people or that the corporation's employees (on whatever level) are actually caring people who genuinely want to help others. . . nor does it necessarily indicate that these people are not instead greedy and wicked. It means that the corporation is by it's nature rather "feral" or "animal" in its operation. It is a beast that must eat money to live. Also, animal nature dictates that an entity will only do as much work as required to achieve a baseline of pleasant living and will do so in the most efficient manner possible. If it does not, it will be eaten or forced out of it's ecosystem by a better animal (see Evolution).
A Pharmaceutical corporation [Corp] (as a corporate entity, not necessarily it's employees) is concerned only with acquiescence of money from people. If a drug cured a condition, it would only be needed when the condition arose and would not sell otherwise. It would also take an immense amount of money to create (as with any drug). As the condition declines in scope, the money from those cured grows smaller and smaller, possibly not even paying for the R&D. Therefore, since Corp only lives because it eats money, Corp, in order to survive and thrive, must obtain more "food" [money] from it's investment than it expends in creation. Therefore the corporation, in order to preserve itself, will prefer to do things which sustain it for extremely long periods of time, that no one else can do (e.g. prevent others from mimicing activity via lawyers), and that, therefore, do not fix any problems but simply make them bearable. The distribution of this tainted material was an ill-formed decision. The people who made this decision panicked at the possibility of a large loss and sought a short-term solution when it would have been in the company's interest to achieve a long-term solution. Man's interaction thusly in the corporation produced a result which was not in the best interests of the corporation (e.g. an error).
[EDIT: Add Final Thought]
Note that man, himself, is at the top of the food chain. Therefore, there are very few ways to controll his overpopulation. Evolution dictates that a species will evolve to sustain itself. Overpopulation causes destruction, therefore, it is quite possibly an evolutionary benefit that man is prone to destroy himself and fight. Man regulates his own overpopulation b/c disease and other factors are routinely and continually reduced in their efficacy by man, himself. Therefore, is it a good thing that man is in some of his aspects a destructive force upon his own kind? [Sometimes this statement makes me laugh...not because it is necessarily funny, but because it is an interesting idea].
