I wouldn't be surprised if another bush got eleceted or if the current one gets re-elected. After the last presidential election I was like "wtf, how could they re-elect that idiot?" so I wouldn't doubt it at all. And Arnold FTW!
Yeah. I'm pretty sure the max amount is 2 terms. 8 years. 1 re-election.
I don't think it matters who the President is.
That's just to decide the party that gets the White House for the next 4 years.
I think that it matters who the advisors are.
I say let him run.
He probably wouldn't get elected, anyway.
Yeah. Let him run. Let's get Democrats in the White House. This is a DEMOCRACY, right?
I don't know what everyone complains about, I make more money, pay less taxes, have a home, and all sorts of stuff I didn't have under any previous administration.
(For those of you who know me, thast a bit of a misleading statement.)
I actually don't have much of a problem with Bush, other than the fact he is a moron. Jeb is a moron, Kerry is a moron, Gore is a moron, and Mrs. Clinton is a cnut.
Give us better people to vote on, for Christ's sake.
Christian vote or no... they can be morons too. This comming from a Catholic.

Actually, the longest term for any one person is 10 years. If a president is killed 2 years after he is elected, his Vice President can take over for those last 2 years. He can the run for office, and then be re-elected, serving two full terms. So that makes 10 years.
BUT, if a President is killed before the last 2 years of his term, when the Vice President takes over, it is considered his term. He can only be re-elected after this term, and then his two terms are complete.

@ Rodin
10 years?
I thought a term was 4 years...
If-so, fact-so...4+4=8...
Yes, a term is 4 years, but if one president is killed in the last 2 years of his term, then his VICE PRESIDENT, can take over for those two, and it won't count as his term, it will be considered the other President's term. Then the Vice President, who is now a president, can run for another term, and then one more term after that. Make the maximum total of years a person can be the president, 10 years.

You said Bush, Terrorist, and Attacks in the same sentence. Now the CIA has this site flagged. Thanks Deltran. (j/k btw XD)

Hahah, you never know, they could have actually flagged this site XD
I do feel that some of the terrorist attacks are caused by Bush. I don't know much about it, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't heard of any terrorist attacks like that in the US before Bush was elected. Then he carries on a war, that in my opinion is pointless and a complete waste, for years in foreign contries that can barely fight back. I've also heard that when the planes struck the towers Bush was alerted of it quickly, but he didn't take any action, just continued to read to children like nothing happened. I don't believe that that is proper president material.
@ Rodin
Goofball. That doesn't count. Even the P and VP have different views on things...
Not the same as 1 person being President for a 10 years.
@ Deltran
The lack of Homeland Security could bring upon a Terrorist Attack in the future.
To the first part: I don't understand what you just said. What I'm saying is it IS possible for a person to be a president for more than 8 years. They're just not allowed more than two terms.
To the second part: Homeland Security is a big joke. Spying on American citizens is unconstitutional. The Patriot Act was just moronic. President Bush said that the President is allowed to have certain powers to protect the "freedoms" of the American people by "spying on them" in times of war.
1) America wasn't at war when the Patriot Act was passed.
2) Bush doesn't think for himself. I mean, no intelligent person could have said that, with the US NOT being at war, and he's protecting their "freedoms" (including the right to privacy) by allowing the government to tap phones, and search without a warrant if the have "reasonable cause".
Pure idiocy.
Also, the phone taps are useless when a person is speaking arabic. I don't know much about the language, and as of now, I have no desire to learn, because of it's difficulty. Depending on which dialect is spoken, many things can mean differnet things.
I believe in Gulf Arabic (Arabic around the Persian Gulf)
Aliakum Salaam = Peace be with you.
Now, in Egyptian, which a friend of mine knows fluently, he was born in Cairo.
Wa'aliakum Salaam (sounds almost the same vocally) loosely translated means Go to the store.
Now, do you really think the CIA is going to be able to decipher harder arabic in time to prevent a terrorist attack?

Actually, Al Quaeda bombed the world trade centers in 1994 I believe it was. I can't remember because I was relatively young at the time.

They'd been planning 9/11 for years. Long before Bush was president. Its really a reasonless hatred. They hate our culture and they just hate us. Has nothing to do with who is president.
The war was about stopping a madman from murdering 10's of thousands of his own people.
The phone taps were perfectly legal (part of a presidents powers in a wartime state) and were only used on people known to have Al Quada connections and only when there were phone calls made to lines outside of the US or incoming calls from outside the US. In fact something like 80 some odd percent of people in this country said they don't mind their own phones being tapped in those circumstances. Because guess what? The CIA doesn't care you're having phone sex with your girlfriend or that you talked to your grandmother the other day and told her what you want for your birthday. The translators who monitor the phone taps aren't some jackoff that just graduated from college with a foreing language degree, they're people who are highly fluent in that language and understand the different dialects that can be used.
All in all you put too much faith in one man. Even the president doesn't have the power to accomplish all the stupid things he's been accused of doing. I totally understand not agreeing with a lot of the things he's done. But, realize there is a reason for them and most likely we as regular people don't have the intel to realize why a lot of these decisions are being made. Personally, I'd rather have him as a president than Kerry or Gore. Personal opinion. I realize none of what I just said will make anyone here think even slightly different about it. But there are two sides to every story and CNN isn't always the most unbiased in the stories they present.
Btw, the last 4 presidents, including Bush before 9/11 were guilty of not recognizing the thread Al Quada posed to our country. Something the CIA and FBI were screaming for several years.
EDIT: oops, almost forgot about the original topic. I really wouldn't worry about Jeb even running for pres. I think it was just the older brother trying to throw some love Jeb's way. The frontrunners at this point are McKain (if he still wants it), Rice, and maybe Giulianni. I'm sure I murdered the spelling on a couple of those names.
No one in America is going to vote for another Bush anytime soon. Heck, I think Shrubs are even out for now. And I would never ever vote for a "Jeb" anything....
