There's a server RPG? o_O I notice that some servers have "sub forums", perhaps our server forum could get one of those for off topic server-side things? I mean conversations about people wanting linkshells are all well and good and boring but y'know, there are in jokes and whatnot that people might like to talk crap about occasionally and which moderators might not get

I mean quite a few of us are like friends and stuff and just want a place to chill and unwind and talk about random crap that's not necessarily to do with FFXI but not ... world-reaching enough to put on an entirely separate off-topic forum.

Oh yeah and IRC isn't very good when most of us play when we're online, and some of us live in entirely different time zones

MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!! So besides the ppl coming over from Alla this site is void of any and all discussion. What could be the reason for this? Discuss amongst yourselves. Also the lack of any real discussion on the OoT forum is a sad sad thing these tend to be a more popular section on most sites.

but this game is a social game, so there is a huge aspect of that which essentially boils down to hanging out and chatting with people about random stupid stuff like you do IRL.

Then go be "social" in the game...?

Alla's communities were formed from server to server, but on this board, the community is cross-server. If you don't like it, no one is going to ask you to stay. Allakhazam-Kujata is still the -exact same- forum it was before the ownership changed.

Why try to get banned? Just leave. Log out and don't log back in. It's not that hard. You're just trying to cause unnecessary trouble at this point. Also Fidant, many people tend to think they are clever when they really are not. Besides, your post in the Kujata boards is just a repeat, so use the search function now that you don't have to pay for it.

If you really care about someone's post count you can click on their name. I dont get what is so important about having a post count next to your name other that e-peen status, or an excuse to put others down. Just because someone has a lot of posts doesnt make their information good.

As for "crazy" rules. Would you go from a bar to a fancy restaraunt and except to be able to act in the same manner? Different places have different rules, and you aren't forced to come to this forum if you do not like it. If you want a second alla, feel free to start up a forum of your own and put in all the work needed for it.

I'm curious about the whole situation... I don't do much in the way of out of topic posting anyway but I do read them, I've learnt an awfull lot about my fellow players while they "shoot the breeze"

But what I don't understand is: why? I've looked over the server forum for kujata and one thing jumped out at me immediatley, on the first page (the only page) there is a total of 7 new threads from the last 2 months, 3 of which have been moved and only 3 total have more than 3 replies...

The other thing that jumps out at me from perusing the forums is that they seem very moderator dominated... In the same way that alla was dominated be the so-called post whores and that this is all just an obvious power struggle as the moderators realise they're not gonna be the big fish in the small pond anymore & the post-whores come to grips with the loss of our beloved alla forums where they are the big fish in the big pond...

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not looking to offend anyone here (you guys know I use the term "post-whore" with the utmost affection... I hope) and not trying to rock the boat... Just pointing out a few things I've observed

Just a stab in the dark, but I figure that's because 1.) There are already enough forums, B.) There is an off-topic forum, and iii.) It's not like there isn't a whole internet full of non-FFXI forums for people to use.

I wasn't trying to get banned, just hopefully suggest something that would be attractive to those allakhazam people you guys seem to be wishing to attract to your forums.

Well, I guess if you guys want to stick with what you have and not ever expand out then go for it, whatever, lol ^^ you're not just missing out on "bad" though, you'll miss out on some good people who don't like to be caged.

Alla's Kujata forums - ~75 topics with posts in the last month, 2 stickied, 1 locked (at the request of the original poster).

This is a forum for sharing information on FFXI peopels experiences help etc. the off topics section is a kind of social lounge, but not a pointless post lounge. Forum games are in too many forums, I know Simtropolis is considering banning them because it currently has 187 of them (last mod count)

You are trying to refer and make this forum like alla, yes its different, yes there are a lot of changes to what your used to, but look what alla is, there are so many pointless psots and threads etc and so much flaming, this forum is different and to keep the point of teh forum clear i.e. its for FFXI content, forum games pointless posts etc are not allowed, this keeps a good mature community here, and I certainly want this forum to stay this way.
