    ROFL, wth!?!?

And yeah, I wish I knew more (oh wait, I'm the WishMaster. Hell, I'm the WishMaster3k!!!! Onwards to Google!), but at the moment, I'm a little naive, I suppose on the whole subject. The only thing I'm aware of is that this is a disorder, a learning disorder, I suppose, that affects a lot of people very adversely. A lot of my friends who we thought were just stupid actually only had things like Dislexia or ADD.

I think the general public needs to be educated, because more than enough Americans are affected by this. . .

If it's colorful, with 30 years, and with a name you can't remember, it's most likely a Cockatiel. I had one. For only 10 years ;_; When I think of my dearest Powder, I get sad inside. I loved that bird!

There's a goth kid in the dorm hall, and one day he wore all black (in September) and black jeans to a game of Ultimate Frisbee. Well, he also left all his chains on his pants so we now call him Bojangles. Silly goths, ultimate frisbee is for people who own shorts!

Also, if you find any emo kids who don't like razors, just send them to this site. They won't be dissapointed.

        Re: Emo kids

Ultimate frisbee is an entirely different topic. Unless there's a dog involved I just don't see how frisbee can be fun.

Kids can say and do two different things rather easily. I think it's in everybody's nature to be socialable, yet they act in a way that would filter out certain people, leaving only personality matches. I guess it can be best described as a secret club, where who you are is the secret password to get in. Maybe it's just where I'm from, but I see a lot of kids being unsociable until they realize there's somebody else in their "secret club".

How kids act in their respective secret clubs is a simple question of the current trends.

I didn't know a good way to try to incorporate this into the reply, so here it is anyways: lol, emo!

Ultimate Frisbee isn't just like regular frisbee though, and that's what makes it rock. Just tossin' a disc isn't that fun. Add endzones, competition, and teams and you have a fun sport that's low contact.

I agree on the secret club thing, and many kids have multiple secret clubs. The emo trend is just weird though. It's sad how much these people actually think life is all about pain and sorrow. I have no idea how they convinced themselves this. Maybe their parents should have spanked them more as kids so that they'd have nothing to complain about since they'd at least know what pain somewhat is. Instead, they get bent out of shape for no reason. We're raising a bunch of pansies.

            God bless America.

Ya know, I recently did a paper on families in America that are actually "Food Insecure," meaning that they don't know for sure where their next meal is coming from.

Somewhere in Nebraska, a grandmother is thinking about her grandson, fighting in Iraq, and hasn't received her weekly calls from him in 3 weeks now. She's holding her medication bottle in her hand and looking into her near-empty refrigerator.

"I can pay for my dinner, or I can pay for my medicine. I can't do both."

By the time our generation grows up, Social Security will have dried up.

And let's not forget the war on terror. America is trying to clean the world with bloody hands.

And yet, we have these emo kids who wear black and listen to (Edit Yellowcard, who think that since they can't make friends, the world is ending. A dead bird is an indication of our social decay. God damnit, I love these people, they put things into perspective.

Being Emo is such a fad. Being goth is such a fad. When are the American youth going to grow up? I'd love to see what type of career directions these people are going to take. It's a shame the business world, blue and white collar, don't have time for them to be crying to themselves in a bathtub as they bleed broken tears, or walk the lonely road, the only roads that they have ever known.

They don't know where they go, but they walk alone. . . they walk alone. . .

              Don't forget Dashboard Confessional.

If by alone you mean with 20 other razor-toting rejects who all happen to hang out with each other and cry with each other, then yes, I'd algree with the alone comment. Oh yeah, if by alone you also mean ALL OF MYSPACE because anyone who's really emo has a myspace account, then once again I'd have to agree with you.

You're not emo if you don't have myspace. It's the law.

There was this song I was trying to make a clever reference to

I walk the lonely road/ The only road that I have ever known/Don't know where it goes/ But I walk alone/I walk alone

It goes on like that, and etc. I'll get the name for you from my roomate, who is NOT emo, but he has a lot of songs.

Lolerskates @ Dashboard Confessionals and MySpace. It used to be Xanga, ya know. Back in my day, everyone had a Xanga.

**Edit: Wishmaster that song you're referring to is Greenday 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams'**

Wow, I've never even been to the off-topic forum before, but then I saw the "Emo kids" tag and couldn't resist!

When I was in highschool I guess I would have described myself as emo while others would have described me as a band geek. I felt that nobody understood me, and I really had no friends. I had one friend that I would hang out with occasionally and that was about it. I liked all that dark poetry and death and stuff. However, I never dressed in black, I never had long hair that I combed over my face, I never dyed my hair black or any of that other emo stuff, I was just depressed.

All this however was due to an anxiety problem that I forced myself to overcome. Eventually I realized that nobody disliked me and I had no reason to feel sad because I never did anything to anybody, and nobody ever did anything to me. I started talking to people and hanging out with more people my senior year. After I graduated I got a job where I was introduced to well over 100 new people most of who I'm still friends with. Then I met my wonderful fiance and he's introduced me to hundreds of more amazing people. I'm happier than I've ever been in my life.

As for the "true" emo kids, they're just whiners that want attention, if they were really depressed they wouldn't bother creating video blogs because they'd be too busy killing themselves or really messing their lives up with drugs and alcohol. As said before, all these kids really need is a good slap in the face and a dose of reality.

                      Re: Emo kids

I would say being emo and being depressed are two very different things. Being depressed is something a lot of people deal with, and for the most part make an honest effort to get out of. I struggled with depression off and on for several years growing up. It something you work to get out of, and often just need to look at all the good things in your life.
Being emo is just some pathetic thing where you think the whole world is like that, and nothing good ever happens. Its wallowing in your own self pity, wanting the whole world to feel the same way.
Goth, well, it was cool back when the Crow came out. Thats when it was just a cool looking Halloween costume and not much else. Seriously, how do you wear thick black pants and a longsleeve black shirt in the middle of frickin' summer? Lets leave the white and black face paint to people who come back from the dead to right wrongs. (And preferably only those from the first movie, since the second one was absolutely awful.)

Lol Omecle, that was awesome. Damn dogs from Ohio...

Sorry Wish, I didn't catch the reference. I'm not a big fan of Greenday (thanks Balgas). Also, a few of my friends still have Xangas and I do remember when they were the thing. I may have missed the heyday, but I caught the tail of it and then saw myspace rise above. It makes me sad now that I think about it; I need to grow out my hair I guess :'(

However, I never dressed in black, I never had long hair that I combed over my face, I never dyed my hair black or any of that other emo stuff
Well you obviously weren't a very good emo then =P If you watch Emogirl21's second video blog, she talks about how combed hair over the face is an expression of her PAIN. Come on! Where's your sensitivity if you don't have the hair? Balgas, you're lucky you quit being emo otherwise I'd fire you.

As for the "true" emo kids, they're just whiners that want attention, if they were really depressed they wouldn't bother creating video blogs because they'd be too busy killing themselves or really messing their lives up with drugs and alcohol.
So true, so true. Remember, send them to Maddox's site if they're afraid of razors. He's got a few extra ways for some manly suicides, like eating a bathtub full of beans. The last one on the page is a doozy, though.

Actually, they listen to Nightwish. And that Metalcore christian music crap. Dimmu just doesn't suit the "mood" of an Emo kid. The lyrics are all about destruction and Satanism, therefore the average Emo would dismiss them as not being whiny enough. Add to that the fact that half the songs are in a different language entirely, and there ya go. Sorry for my somewhat offtopic interjection, Dimmu's one of my favorite bands and seeing them associated with Emo kids just feels like a contradiction.

Dimmu is Norwegian, I believe. And I admit, they are too far from emo to even be in the same sentence. I apoligize. My (very goth/satanic even) friend introduced me to them a year ago, but they are too intense for me. They were the only name that came to me at the time, and I didn't think anyone would catch them, let alone know who they were, lol. As soon as I figure out a decently emo group that I haven't cliched yet (ok, Yellowcard just came to mind), I'll edit my post most righteously.

                                Lol, love that comment...

An embodiment of a sayings I hate with tremendous vigor. Greatest Irony with it too is that I have people that are suppose to be the "professionals" did all the certifications and everything for it and yet... What's this they come to me for help because "I know it better then them?"

Sorry, but when you have 4 teachers and 2 professors do this you can't but think what does a degree and experience matter if someone of only months or weeks of experience can do it better. I'm sure you mean well by it, but my upbringing has brought around a tremendous amount of disbelief that anyone with years of experience is any better then someone with days of experience. As long as both have the knowledge they got out of the books or whatever other study methods.

The more experienced one may avoid obvious problems more easily but have yet to see them be profoundly better. Alright, trying to refrain myself here actually. You wouldn't believe how incredibly pissed I get when someone values my worth by my age, especially when I spend the effort to respect those older then me. Makes it really hard to when they pull out that BS.

Alright think my annoyance with it has passed. Thanks for another laugh TGM...
