Went to a brilliant concert last night, War of the Worlds, by Jeff Wayne live on stage complete with 30 foot Tripod excellent CGI sequences on a screen through the whole show with famous names playing the original parts from the world renowned recording of his musical version of HG Wells novel.
Celebrities included Jeff wayne (conducting and producing), Justin Hayward (moody blues and on original WOTW album), Alexis James, Tara Blaise, Chris Thompson (Manfred mans earth band), Russell Watson (sings theme music to enterprise (star trek)) and the voice of Richard Burton with a computer generated face of him. (hes been dead since 1984)
Its well worth going and although at the moment it is only playing here in the Uk, they are considering doing a world tour.
To wet everyones appetite, heres a shot I took on my camera of the concert with tripod, Richard Burtons head on the left with the band on the left and string orchestra on the right.
