    Re: Violence in Video Games

    I'm not sure how my presentation went, because my PowerPoint died on me. I made a novice mistake:

    We have "media carts" that are connected to projectors, and i plugged the projector into my laptop. I foolishly set Dual Screen access, and dragged PPT into the projection. But when I started the slide-show, it came up on my laptop -.-

    I forgot to close my screen, making the external monitor the main. A novice mistake. I lost a bit of points due to the lacking in my visual aid ;;

    But this wasn't like my explanatory speech, so visual aid wasn't that heavy of a weight.

    Content-wise, I actually might have had too* much. But I did properly cite sources and I had verbal references in the speech. I also knew the bulk of my speech because I hand-typed the information, even if it was word for word verbatum from a source.

    I think it went "ok" and thankfully, it was merely our first speech of this type.

    Anyone who posted before 4am, when I went to sleep, thank you.

    And I agree with your critique, Nazl. Due to my writing, I use commas a LOT. But for a speech, it might have been more beneficial to break it up sentences. I'll keep that in mind for future projects, thank you.

          Rofl!

          Person1: "Video games or so violent, they're corrupting our society!"
          Me: "What makes you think I won't cut you for saying that?"
          Person1: *_*;;

          I like how parents buy Grand Theft Auto without knowing the content, then complain when they hear, "Yo, CJ! Ice that ni**a!"

            In this case, 'replayability' should be one word.
            Fast-forward 40 years, and gaming has evolved above and beyond mere dots on a screen moving back and forth on a two-dimensional plane. Gaming has essentially become a visual medium, much akin to movies and other forms of entertainment, with graphical prowess, storylines and emotional ties to characters that rival what the best movies and books are able to create. As such, there are standards to be met in terms of visual presentation, content, interactivity and replay ability.

              God damn Word did that. I've been reading it as "replayability" in GI since like 1999, but oh well. Thank you, though. I edited the first post:

              This is a decent reference for anyone seeking to pose a similar argument, or even a reference of the rebuttals if you are seeking to Prove* video games, for some odd reason, cause violence.

              The information is on the internet, but, personally, I'd appreciate it if anyone who wanted to use my paper ask me and cite me in someway.

              Ya know, give me a flashy title like, "Dreams in Vana'diel News Correspondant, Renarudo"

              And show me the paper after your done
